What are the causes of computer addiction?

Just like any other addiction, the causes can be many fold:

  • Loneliness
  • Boredom
  • Trauma
  • Depression
  • Frustration
  • Fear
  • Illness

Most of the time they resume in an escape from reality , a cover up of emotions. If this is your case, try to find the causes of your addiction. For you will only solve it by knowing its origin.

What are the types?

Just like in all illnesses there are several levels going from mild to severe.

As long as there are no side effects it is ok

Try to find a point of insertion (and that goes with wHat you like) like new fields of interest: local photography club, pet club,...

There is always something someone is going to come up with that isnt healthy for us. Like sitting on our butts all day and not exercising. I am disabled and take care of two elderly parents. My life is my computer! Does that make me addicted?

LOL!!! I used to think I was addicted but now I'm not so sure - we are going to have to define 'destructive' here for those of us who have long been bending the definition out of all proportion :D

someone a couple of years back did a series of hilarious blogs on 'how you know you are addicted to WA' ...

my new year's resolution is less time online, definitely getting smarter about that - 9pm switch off, no matter what....
