Computer addiction, a fact
The world Health Organisation (WHO) has just recognised computer addiction as an illness. The computer and all that goes with it can be a serious treath for your mental and physical health.
Virtual life might be a shining screen, but it is a dark light also.
Time for us to look into computer addiction and all that goes with it:
- What are the symptoms
- What are the causes
- What are the remedies
But first what is computer addiction?
It is an excess, an obsession leading to negative results in your relationship, daily work, finances, and it leads to destructive patterns in your life. Translating in all kinds of frustration and agression.
It is amplified by other addictions. Gambling in the first place. Or chatting . Or shopping. Or cybersex. Just to name a few... And one addiction often covers another more serious problem.
Not all work done on computer is addiction. Even if it takes hours to accomplish.
Remember the destructive aspect is the key.
The negative side effects are signals that something is going wrong.... A spiral that takes you down.
Do not give up your real life for a virtual one is the main warning here...
someone a couple of years back did a series of hilarious blogs on 'how you know you are addicted to WA' ...
my new year's resolution is less time online, definitely getting smarter about that - 9pm switch off, no matter what....
