Now you have an idea what a niche is. The next thing you should do is to write down 5-10 things you like doing. This could be a hobby, something you want to learn or maybe just a topic where you have a strong opinion. The first site you create should be about something you are passionate!

Write down 5-10 things right now and then go on reading! I really want to help you picking a niche, so just write down your thoughts.

Now pick 3 of your favorite things on the list and again write them on a peace of paper.

Think about this 3 things and imagine about which topic on your paper you could regularly write new content and don't get bored. This is important if you want to succeed. You need a topic that writing about motivates you!

It's just important to start! Start writing and you will see which one is the right choice! And don't think about monetization. You can do that later on!

is religion too controversial? I'm a "beginner" Christian so I would say I'm learning and I'm sure there are a lot of people at the beginning stages of learning too......what do you think?

When choosing your niche you should analyze your audience.
Your audience should be interested in 'buying' something from you so I am not sure how you could monetize a Christian website really...
Unless your main goal is not to make money from your website I don't really see how you could do that

Hi Brenkill, religion is probably too broad. Christianity is better but probably still too broad. Christianity for beginners would probably work but you'd need to think about how you are going to do it :)

Christian books, potentially online courses (not sure if these exist), conference tickets (if you could find an affiliate program), Christian gifts, toys, tshirts, music, DVDs, study Bibles, cross jewellery...

Too many ways to monetize this niche...

I haven't thought about that but the idea of making money out of religion seems a bit off to me honestly

Nice conversation here! I agree with both, there are many ways you could monetize this niche... but honestly it's a bit controversial. This is up to you to decide. Maybe you could create a blog where you write some thoughts about what you learn, but you'll need a good niche to monetize too.

Welcome to WA Brenkill, think about how you got started in religion. Write about that and maybe start a membership website. Hope that helps.

This is an excellent introduction to finding a niche. I missed having some images in the training. Many of your readers will be visual learners so images can help them a great deal.

Ive always thought religion was about making money anyhow but did you know the Bible is the most stolen book in the world so I'm sure people are buying it too :) then there is jewellery and all kinds of things you could probally make a site about all different religions just my 2 cents
