Now your post is done and the actual writing shouldn't have taken too long at all. Everything was planned and researched so by the time you get to the writing it should be really quick.
Now to add images. This is a vital part of your content creation. So why are images so great?
- We are visual creatures, we love beautiful things.
- Images help with SEO
- Images are shareable on social networks like Pinterest
Ok so how do we make sure our images get us our SEO juice? The answer is simple with ALT Tags.
So your featured image should have your Main Keyword and then each Heading that has a keyword should have an Image to go with it with that Keyword in it.
So upload your images in the right places and so many people have asked me how to add an alt tag. It is simple.
If it is your featured image just click on the image and you will get the options coming up. If it is an image within your content click on the image once and then some icons will appear, just click on the pencil.
Then your image options will appear as shown in this screenshot below.
Oh and while we are here I'll just add in a few things. Check what your image is linked to! This sometimes come up as a link to a media file. Rather change it to none. You can also link your image to a URL which I like to do quite often... just remember to make sure you tick the advanced option at the bottom so it opens in a new window.
Right let's head onto the next items.
I don't want my boring title that nobody will click on showing up in the searches.
I have really been struggling with this because all of my keywords are quite long (3-6 words), often questions. There is no way to write a catchy title that also has the keywords without it becoming a run on sentence.
Another thing, someone (can't remember who) said to only focus on one keyword per article. Don't get fixated on adding other keywords. But I think you are suggesting we should look at other keywords.
I am starting to think (since I am not really making much money) that I am going to just try writing without focusing on keywords. So many of my competitors articles that rank on the first page don't seem to even focus on keywords. They appear here and there, but it seems very natural and not planned out. Yet they are still on the first page.
What to do, what to do???
All the very best,
Pete.
