One of the common mistakes I see many Wealthy Affiliate (WA) members making is setting themselves up for failure from the start.
If you are asking questions like:
- How much money will I make in 3 months or 6 months or 12 months?
- When is the best time to get started?
- How long will "this" take?
You are starting off the block with a negative, blocker mindset.
Think about it.
When you start a new job, is money your only thought?
I hope not.
Here is an insight into the expectation that is required to start your online business on the right footing.

I have set goals, or milestones if you will connected also to monetary values. But I have been realistic with the goal and understood that setting it is not far from a 100% guarantee that I would reach it.
I don't set such goals anymore as I have understood that money is no more than a byproduct of the effort and investment we put into what we do.
That is also why I took a "pause" if that is the right description from January this year until the beginning of October to take a good look at what I had been doing since March 2020.
It was revealing. I did everything but affiliate marketing through blogging.
Now I am back again with a full focus on writing for my blogs and in the process building a good foundation for my brand.

Roy, we are in that boat together.
For me, year 1 was about learning and years 2 and 3 were spent building other lines of income.
Thankfully, those decisions paid off.
I am buckling down now to put my efforts into:
(A) Affiliate Marketing and,
(B) Coaching.
We will check in on each other as the next year progresses.

I have never set myself up for failure by thinking that I would succeed in a set period of time here, however, I have also not put into this the same amount of time and effort to make sure that it succeeds. So, another form of setting myself up for failure.

It is staying longer than we need to that becomes the rock that holds us down.
Having arrived, use the time to Change Your Script.

Very interesting Cassi!
I'm no longer like that, but when I joined WA I definitely had very unrealistic ideas about how easy it would be and how quick would be 'normal' to earn loads of money.
But when it didn't happen, I knew that I was in it for the long haul and it isn't just about the money, though that is now a goal.
I went quiet for a while because I didn't know how to move forward - and then was blessed enough to 'meet' Prince Partha's teachings, and his blogs have helped, and are still helping me, to make an action plan.
And your video series on Changing Your Script is also great, so a big thanks for sharing!
