Kyle, your videos are easy to follow and very informative.
I am not sure how I feel about being reminded that I am on the free version and that there is so much more being offered on the premium side of the house, especially when I feel I still have a lot more to lean before thinking about becoming a premium member.

Sure, not a problem. You can delete a website from within your Site Manager.

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/websites

If you go to the Details (button), click that it will take you to your details page for that given site. If you scroll down to the bottom of that page, you will see a Delete This Website button. Click that.

Do know that if you delete a website, you will not be able to recover it at a later times as it is completely deleted from our hosting platform.

I have my niche, and I'm confident about it. Its a self development and community affiliate program where everyone who shares the same beliefs and value will be able to benefit from this site. Its a website in the making and changes are going to happen a long the way just to find what works and what does not. I welcome critiques and suggestion. Thanks

I have never even attempted to build my own website and sorta find this a little intimidating. However, I do believe in trial and error techniques and glad to know I have support while attempting to build this site. So, with that thought in mind, off I go to the site builder and see what happens. Thanks for the support Kyle. I will follow up with you as questions come up.

Thanks for the support Kyle. I had some problems last evening as I wanted to make some changes to the website I had initially created. For whatever reason, I was not allowed to do so. I did find out however, that if I chose a different template, I could transfer the original content from the initial website and edit content from there. That seems to be working. Many thanks again! I will keep you posted on my progress and any other problems I encounter. I am currently on lesson 8 and taking my time to make sure I am absorbing the information and not just rushing through.

You truly have everything you need here and you are getting elite services within WA that cost MUCH more outside of WA.

The Managed Wordpress hosting you have access to here at WA is matched by very few hosts in the industry in terms of quality, security, speed, and support. It definitely is not a budget host like the other shared hosting companies out there. The hosting you get here at WA is comparable to $250 per MONTH hosting packages.

You can learn more about it here:

http://www.wealthyaffiliate.com/hosting/

You can host up to 25 of your own domains and 25 free .siterubix.com websites on your Premium hosting platform here at WA.

Good day

I have a few questions - if one does the free website option which is basically a sub domain of the siterubix(dot)com. Isn't that gonna make ranking so much more difficult because google and other search engines won't be able to index it to just your niche? Siterubix(dot)com has thousand of sub domains of users with their own unique niche.

Question 2. If one does move the website over to own domain eventually - how is this gonna affect rankings or does one active a permanent redirect to the new site?
Reply

Those are great questions and I will try to find an answer for you. I started out with a sub domain so I could set up my website and then bought my own domain after a couple of months. The sub domain definitely directs to your new domain, but I'm not sure how that affects rankings. I will let you know what I find out.

Hello Kyle, You just bombed me in a fantastic world and I am completely amazed at the fantastic features in the website building section. I begin to understand the importance of the training and it is fantastic to take the whole process step by step. For a new bie like me, this is the most fantastic opportunity I have ever met. Things are simply but tremendously getting serious by now. how ever, I am still confused about the explanation given for premium membership when it comes to the domain names. I really want to understand the difference under domain name, between ON A DOMAIN I OWN and REGISTER A DOMAIN. I equally want to know if at some time I can delete a web site and replace by another. Thanks for your reply

Sure, happy to help you out with your questions here. The domain within the Starter membership are created on the .siterubix.com domain, you are in full control of the content, but you don't own the actual domain.

When you are ready, you can move these sites over to your own domains with a click of a button here at WA using the MOVE feature.

We also have a SiteDomains (domain registration platform) here at WA that simplifies the process. It is a breeze, it handles everything properly for SEO, and these are features included within the Premium membership.

Hope this clarifies for you Ekwe.

So I am starting up a website that is primarily a blog for album reviews, band interviews, and music scene news, that I am looking to expand into a networking site with radio podcasts, concert promotions, labels/sales distributions, bulletin boards, etc. and am wondering if the expansion is feasible under the start-up through SiteRubix; with the amount of content I have currently ready being relatively small-scale, is it wise to try branching out from that under the same banner, or should I use different webpages? I'd like to have a larger stream of traffic through the conglomerated resources provided by one site, so as to be more easily managed (with demographically targeted but fairly wide-spectrum advertising).
Reply
bajandigital Premium
Well if you are planning expansion I would recommend going premium as you will have up to 50 websites to support your expansion.
Reply
Kyle Premium
By all means yes, start with a .siterubix.com website. Down the road as you establish your brand, you will be able to shift ANY free website you create here to your own domain name. We actually have a "Move" feature that you will see right within the SiteManager.

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/websites

You can move any domain to any domain hosted here at WA. For example, if you wanted to move your Siterubix website to a domain that you have purchased, then it is a very simple process.

The "Move" feature also handles for all proper redirects and SEO, it will transfer your site in its entirety and it is as simple as a few clicks. See attached screenshot for what I am referring to here.

It will be a while before I can afford that, but hopefully I'll at least be able to get the money in time for the 1st month at discount offer. Thanks!

When I first found WA I thought wow this is very expensive. $49 a month. These guys are making a lot of money. I signed up anyway. Going through the training so far I now see that they put a lot of work and money into this. I know that they have expensives. Just hosting say 25 websites would cost me way more than the $49 dollars that they charge. I don't know how they do it. I'm sure with there expert training that I will make way more than the small fee WA charges. This can't be cheap to operate. There not making a lot of money per client. The end result is that WA has my back 24/7 with all the features that you would have to pay for would cost you thousands. Your training is very easy to understand. I will be a premium member for as long as I can.

A niche is not usually a specific product, rather an audience.

When deciding on a niche and trying to narrow down to a more specific niche, I recommend you ask yourself the following question:

I want to help people that ______________.

Fill in the blank and you are going to be much closer to a specific audience. After you do this and if you want to run any further ideas by me, let me know and I will give you a hand. :)

been researching trying to find THIS! I have not found anywhere else that offers this many real benefits without charging for each of these services included here separately, and it really adds up! I also was concerned because I love WordPress and I had a false impression that it was not part of the website builder. And even the training has been worth the cost of Premium! You are so good at what you do here that I really believe that my dreams of having my own online business are finally going to be realized. Already I can't say thank you enough!!!

It usually happens quicker, within hours, but some hosts can take up to 24 hours. You can try building your website before that and if it works, then the DNS has already been set-up.

as I am working through the training and research I have some questions:

- How have you all got over the fear of just starting something and seeing what happens? (without overanalysing the potential failings!)

- what has been your biggest wake up call/surprise - good or bad, as you have got started?

- realistically, from the moment of launching a site, and assuming you are giving it your best efforts, at what point do you start to see sales? I know there isn't a straight answer to this, but just want to have my expectations set, is it months/years before you can start to see results?

- Is it better to build up a following with interesting and regular content before recommending products? Or do you launch the site on day 1 with affiliate links and then start promoting?

any advice is fantastic! thanks

Here's what I can share:

1. Don't feel, just do it! Have an end goal of what you want to achieve online other than financial goals. When I first started, I wanted to create the most detailed business opportunity review site on the internet, and I strive to do that everyday.
2. My first Commission I receive, I still didn't believe earning money online was possible. It is only when I withdrew real cash from the atm that I realize it is really possible. Kinda in the self denial state when I receive my first commission.
3. I got my first commission on the 4th month, some people did it in their first. I would think the average is aroung 6 to 8 months? You must always remember that you are building a brand, an authority, and it takes time. Think long term as to what milestones you want your website to achieve (non financial related), like how many visitors per month.
4. I've answered this on your other post.

Another great video. Kyle for President!
This is premature (because I want WA to be my first niche), but when the time comes (soon), I want to know how to replace the banner with a video (or else have it open with a video). I recently learned that slide.ly offers a way to quickly create an attention-getting video.
My idea for this is a guy dancing in his office with just a few lines of text as he gets his co-workers' attention: "This is Chad. Wanna be like Chad? Find out why Chad is happy. Find out how to be like Chad." Quick (13 seconds) and shouts "What's up with that?"
I've already created it, but I haven't bought it. It's just $40 dollars, which includes the ability to make more.
Go, Kyle. Go Chad.

Just getting my head around something

Domains are where you park your websites.....
So If I had 2 or 3 websites each with their own niche.... Ie
one niche - sewing bags
2nd niche - crotchet
3rd niche - macrame
could they all be parked on the same domain ie craftystuff.com or something like that

or does each web site have to have their own domain
Reply

One domain per niche. If you have 3 different ones as suggestion, I would recommend that you have 3 different domains. It is ideal for rankings and building authority.

Also, is it possible to remove a domain?

If the domain is available in .com, you can use it. There are way more domain names available on the siterubix platform, because it's only available to WA people. When you upgrade to the .com domain name, you may find that your chosen name is already taken though!

If that's the case, you'd have to change it, but there's a little workaround I use:

Especially in comparison to all that is out there (I've been shopping for years, lol), there really is no competition. All others want to chop everything up and serve it a la carte milking your wallet for all it is worth, just to get a site, then they keep tacking on fees as you realize there are more things you need to have a seamless running website.

Not with WA. You get EVERYTHING! EVERYTHING with your Premium membership. No surprise fees! I am loving WA already and I am only just about to pick a theme for my website. LOL

If you don't have the budget to upgrade at the moment, that is completely fine. You should work through the Getting Started training (within the "Get Started Here" button in the menu) and take action.

By lesson 4 you are going to have your own niche website up and running. This is the starting point of your business and is the foundation that is going to lead you to success down the road.

Hello everyone, I'm kinda stuck. Or maybe I'm just overthinking this. How important is a website name? I mean does it need to be catchy or do you just need to stick the basic thing it refers to? And are there any rules? Like is it better to be shorter than longer or do you have to make sure no one else has a website named that and does your whole website name have to be included in your domain or just part of it? I don't really know much about domains; what's the difference between having it on a free domain vs one you have to buy? I'm sure these are all silly question to most of y'all. This is all new to me. Thank you in advance for any advice you can give. Tonya

A website name is important, but it does not have to be full of keywords. Rather it has to be something that you like and resonates with you.

When you choose a domain, you are going to want to choose something that is "brandable" versus something that has keywords within it. The reason this is the case is because as you build out your website, you can target as many keywords as you like within the content (that is how you will rank).

I have created a discussion here outlining the process and what to look for when choosing a domain name: This should help you out here and if you ever want to run any domains by me, simply let me know and I will give you some feedback.

PS. You can host up to 25 of your own domains here within the Premium membership on our state of the art hosting platform. :)

Nothing at all. The only other potential expense here is a domain name, and that is something that you own just like real estate.

So glad you are loving your experience here thus far, expect more of the same as you do move forward. :)

In terms of the costs of Premium, it is $19 the first month, then it is $49 per month after the first month. This includes absolutely everything you need to create and grow a business online from the training, weekly live classes, he support, the tools, the websites/hosting, the mentoring, network, exclusive access to all updates...you name it.

The only comparable education to us is Full Sail University, which is $40,000 per year. Just some perspective there, and that doesn't include hosting, websites, research tools, etc

You can buy domains here at WA directly through the SiteDomains platform. It is a very seamless system and we have implemented some very advanced features so you do not have to deal with the headache of DNS, whois privacy, security, upsells, or of managing your domains within a completely different account.

You can access the SiteDomains platform under the main SiteRubix menu, or you can get to it directly here.

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/websites/domains

A .com domain will usually run you under $14 per year, with other top level domains varying in price. This includes absolutely everything. You can register any of your domains there and upon purchasing, they will instantly be ready to build your website on!

And once you have your own domain, you can move your .siterubix.com to your own domain at any time. :)

You can also find this within the SiteRubix menu under the "SiteSupport"(to the left). This is where you should go if you ever have loading issues with your website, deleting your site, email issues, plugin/theme issues, or if you accidentally do something that adversely impacts your website.

This support is 24/7 and upon submitting your ticket we will look into it right away David!

Santiago, once you purchase/buy a new Domain Name your current free domain will change to that purchased one. So instead of example: baindigitalmedia.siterubix.com....mine is baindigitalmeida.com. Hope this helps.

Thanks, but it looks like it is only the extension that change. It changed from SITERUBIX.COM to ....com In my case I misspelled the name: "WomanHealth" it should be "womenHealth"
will I be able to correct that?
Thanks

Yes, I believe so. Contact Domain Support, they should be able to correct the spelling. They are very helpful and respond fast. I've contacted them a few times.

You cannot change a domain URL after the fact, but you can move websites from one domain to another very quickly here at WA using our MOVE platform.

See attached screenshot for what I am referring to here.

good video, thanks Kyle!

Let's see what I can come up with in order to build my website. Quick question though: at this stage of the training I am yet to decide the layout of my website but have already got my niche in mind...shall I just go ahead and create a preview of my webpage following the steps I have just watched in this video and then as I move along the training and become more familiarised with the plugins and add-ons I can come back and keep working on the design of my web or shall I carry on just with the training and leave the web creation for later?

Thanks!

I used to have a Yoga Gems website with Network Solutions, but had to take it down because it had too many of my memoirs on it, which was not acceptable to Hay House, who will be publishing my memoirs. So for my website with WA on the yogic lifestyle, I will leave my memoirs out of it and simply share the yogic teachings I practice, which have led to my liberation. Yet WA does not have any images of people doing Kundalini Yoga, which has very specific angles and postures and a healthy yogic lifestyle, which I have been practicing daily for nearly fifty years. Can I bring in images from the Kundalini Yoga foundation and Mother Ashram for Ashrams around the world, which is across the street from where I live?

Hi, I just watch video of site building process. Perfectly understand, everything is sooo easy and simple. I have a big question - where is on that site, which I will make- WHERE IS PRODUCTS i PROMOTE? Where is link to them on Amazon, for example.. ? I don`t have dilema about my niche, I go there right now after someone explane this to me :) simple question for simple answer :) thanks in advance :)
Reply
JamesBain1 Premium
Hi Biljana! You have to put your own products on your website as you build it. If the products on Amazon are your OWN products then you should have photos of them on your computer already. If you're selling other peoples products as an Affiliate, you should have an affiliate link for each product you're advertising on your website.

Look at my website for instance. baindigitalmedia.com. The image I have attached here is from my affiliate site that has my affiliate link and photos for me to use to advertise the product. On my website you can click that image and it will take you to the product. Since the link embedded in the photo is my affiliate link, I'll earn a commission if anyone actually buys the product. That's how it works.

This seems pretty easy. I'm just wondering about how focused my niche should be. I want to focus on artist's tool at this point, but I want to know if I should be more specific for example, should I build a website that focuses on one specific tool like pencils, or should I focus on tools as a whole?
Reply

What type of art? Artist's Tools is a cool brand name and you could head in that direction, but the specificity of your niche could be narrowed down a bit. What type of art, wha type of tools? Brushes? Spray paint? Canvases and Easels?

The SiteRubix site builder is the best!

I have also struggled for years with Wordpress.

The CPanel (Control Panel) is the hardest part. There aren't any clear training's or instructions in setting up your Wordpress website when you use the CPanel. And you have to use it.

Also, there is FTP (File Transfer Protocol) another difficult area of setting up and maintaining websites.. The only thing I got from these systems was...more confused.

Now we have SiteRubix, it is a blessing for me. It does all of the hard work for me and it does it better than I could, even after years of dealing without it.

Now I can focus on the real business that I came here for. This is so much better!
Reply

Yeah, cPanel is not used by any established and innovative company now. You will not need to use it here at WA, we have a much more advanced, yet simplistic platform than that and we have provided you everything you need as well as some advanced features within the clean interface here.

FTP is also something that you should never have to deal with these days!

So glad you are enjoying everything Melvin, you definitely have a bright future ahead of you!

Wow, linux and command line! That was before my time, but I was definitely creating websites manually when I started out. Back in 2002 we were using Dreamweaver, HTML, some DHTML, and Photoshop for the design elements.

Making a website has come a long ways. What took me 30 days back then, can be accomplished in 30 seconds. That is no joke!

I know you are going to love your experience as you continue to move forward Matthew, please keep me updated with your progress.

Hi !
I just wanted to ask what does moving domain later means? I have no experience with websites so far and i wanted to understand that part of the process?

Also, is it possible to change and play with theme details? For example to change color of typography used in the theme?

Thanks!
Reply
Kyle Premium
It means that you can move a website from your .siterubix.com domain to a domain that you own, your very own .com domain. This can be done with a click of a button using the MOVE feature here at WA.

In respect to modifying and changing your theme settings, you can definitely do this.

If you go to Appearance => Themes (and "customize" for your particular theme ) within the back office of your website, you will likely see your home page header there which you can upload an image for.

There are typically many other settings in there as well that you can use to manipulate theme colours, font colours, theme images, logos, menus, structure/layout, etc.

See attached image for reference.

I’m fascinated with the location independent lifestyle. I have background in and a great love of homeschooling. Most homeschool families struggle financially and certainly cannot travel very much. So, what might my niche be that incorporates producing money independent of your location and that can help homeschool families become Worldschool families instead?
Reply
Kyle Premium
You can definitely head in the homeschooling direction with your niche Laura. :)

I have a niche idea but the web lingo is a little beyond me. So, WA helps me create 2 websites, can I import reviews and other content? I don't think my knowledge of my niche is sufficient to fill a website let alone have peel use me for their shopping.
Reply
Kyle Premium
You don't want to copy reviews and other content. Google does not like duplicate content and you will instantly lose all credibility and ranking potential within Google as a result of this. This is absolutely going to curb any chances of success with your website.

All your website content should be 100% unique. Sometimes you may need to quote something or curate a component of the content, but I don't recommend that you have any more than 5% duplicate content on a given page (ideally you would have zero).

Unique, quality content is what will lead to rankings!

You'll create your own content as you go through the training. I have looked at other people's reviews to get an idea of how to layout my content but, I always put it in my own words.

I have a couple questions. What is the difference between using the free domain and buying your own? If I happen to buy premium for one month and decide I no longer want to pay for it, will I no longer of access to my website with a free domain or personal one?
Reply
llj-tucson Premium
If you create a free SiteRubix domain, you will have access to it forever. You have limited access to training and the WA community as a free member (after the first 7 days) but you can keep your 2 websites.

Once you're sure you really want to do this, you should definitely purchase your own domain because it helps with authority and it's easier for readers to find.you. For example, which site sounds more professional

MyBeardedDragon.com or
MyBeardedDragon.SiteRubix.com

If you purchase your own domain and you decide you don't want to continue with Wealthy Affiliate, you can move your site to another hosting provider. Just make sure you understand the relative advantages. I've been a premium member of WA for 2 years in part because I can't replace the services I have here at anywhere near the price I pay. I'm an annual member which saves me a lot of money. And, my membership includes Jaaxy. If you're going to be successful at affiliate marketing you need a keyword research tool!

I encourage you to take the full 7 days to explore WA. By the time you finish all 10 lessons, you'll have a website and you'll know if this is for you or not. I kept my SiteRubix site for about a month before I bought my own domain. Transferring my content was very easy.

You're on the right track so keep asking questions.

I found this to be straight forward and easy to follow. The video took the 'big mystery' out of having an online business. My question is regarding connecting to affiliate opportunities, products or programs. Do you register with the product or program you are interested in promoting and an affiliate link is assigned to you through the supplier/manufacturer? Or does WA supply you with an affiliate link? Just a little confused on that part. Thank you.

Hey Louise.

I think there's a video in the training which explains this if I remember correctly.

You can just Google affiliate companies that work in your niche and sign up with them etc. They then supply you with their links once everything is sorted.

In this video and under the Site Manager tab -- Site Protect -- does this eliminate the need for Akismet spam protection or should I still install that plugin? I have always installed Akismet at my wp sites to help catch spam. Just wondering if the site protect does that job completely.

Yes, no need for Akismet if you have this installed. It actually does A LOT of things that Akismet isn't doing, so it will be superior and won't clog up your website load speeds with Aksimet. Another benefit of using the platform here at WA.

Choose a theme that is simple, ideally with a white background and black text (as this is the most readable).

I tend to avoid themes with too many bells and whistles as the focus of your website will be your content and your content will make your website look visually appealing to your audience.

So choose something simple, yet elegant and if you ever need to change down the road, you can easily do so within Appearance => Themes.

There are over 3,000 to choose from there and you will also be able to upload your own from there.

I have created some training on how to do this that you should check out: You can always change your theme down the road and this is something that is commonly done through time and as you advance your website.

Well there is no limit, the limit is going to be the time you have to dedicate to your business and the resources. I have never come across a niche or a website where I ran out of "ideas" and potential, in fact quite the contrary.

As you move through the training and learn the foundational building blocks of an online business, you are going to be in a position of too many ideas/keywords/opportunity and not enough time to take advantage of it all.

When you are ready to upgrade, I know you are going to absolutely love it but at your own pace.

Great training. I am excited to get started. I have a couple of questions. Stop me if I am getting ahead of myself. First, I have a website set up through Go Daddy, can I use that through here? Also, I would like to set up another one through here, but I don't want the siterubix in the URL... is that possible? I am willing to pay for the URL if necessary to make that happen. Lastly, when editing the site, will there be access to change fonts and all? Thanks in advance!!!
Reply
Nikosth Premium
You can move your website from Go Daddy to WA if you want. You could also keep you website at Go Daddy and just apply the things you learn here at your site. You can do whatever you like the most. If your website is not hosted here you might not be able to use certain tools inside WA. Like Site Comments and Site Feedback. But you can ask for comments inside the lessons or you can use this comment thread . So, there are other options available inside WA.

You can create a website at your own domain here at WA. It is possible to host up to 25 websites of your own domains in WA with the premium membership. You can buy a domain name at site domains.Go to Site Rubix and then Site Domains. The process of how you can buy a domain name at WA is explained in the lessons ahead. But it's very easy to do it. On average they cost $12 per year. But prices vary. You can find domain names for $8 up to $18 per year.

You can edit your websites at Site Manager. You click log in and that will take you to the back office of your site. In order to change fonts, header images and stuff like that you will have to go to Appearance. That's where you can usually make this changes. But that also depends on your theme. Some themes may not allow you to change your font for example. But you have access to thousands of free WordPress themes to choose from.

Don't worry all this are explained in the next lessons.
