The process of building a website has never been less technical or efficient. SiteRubix provides you with the most comprehensive website building experience in the world and literally what you can do in 30 seconds today, used to take weeks to accomplish.

As a newbie, something I found useful was to get started with a basic theme to start practising and create useful content and posts. Once I did some practice, then I changed for a more advanced theme.

Besides that, I have to praise all the functionality that WA offers to premium members such as SiteSpeed as it makes life easier for us, as we do not need additional plugins to take care of that.

Thank you!

That is the approach that lots of people take. You can start off with a very simple theme, and you can update your theme on-the-fly as he move forward. You can slide in new designs and look for your website and that is the brilliant aspect of the website platform here. :)

Sounds like you have a good handle on things they are making some good progress JL!

In the past, I have tinkered with setting up very archaic sites for hobbies. I found them to be very frustrating. Looking forward to the benefits of all of the WA efforts toward K.I.S.S.

We like the kiss approach, but we have a platform here that is the most sophisticated in the industry.

Our goal has always been to remove the technical elements of building a business through our own sophistication and technology, making your life easier as a business owner online.

At the core of all successful businesses, there is a very simple business model and idea. We are proponents of this here at Wealthy Affiliate.

The video on Building Your Website makes everything look so easy. I am just discovering as I go along how much effort, money and time WA has invested to put in place the entire steps and
procedures for newbies like me to be able to build my own website, and to know exactly how it is done, This is awesome.
As I go along I am learning how to build my own website, set up
my online business but also to become an expert in the process,
and to share my knowledge with others.

Everything I am doing now on WA program is my very first. I have
never build a website before, but I have a basic idea of what i want, the situation is how to get it done. This is where I am relying
you and the community team effort for guidance.
Although I do not have my own website I do have a domain name
which is "shareyouropportunity" Can this domain na me be used

I idea I have in mine is to promote WA to Affiliate Marketers, and
also recommend the program to persons who are going into
retirement and are those who are retired just like myself.

Reply

What part of the design aspect are you getting stuck with? Are you not finding any themes that you like?

Choose a theme that is simple, ideally with a white background and black text (as this is the most readable).

I tend to avoid themes with too many bells and whistles as the focus of your website will be your content and your content will make your website look visually appealing to your audience.

So choose something simple, yet elegant and if you ever need to change down the road, you can easily do so within Appearance => Themes.

There are over 3,000 to choose from there and you will also be able to upload your own from there.

I have created some training on how to do this that you should check out:

I created a siterubix website. When I try to log into it, I get a "page not working" error. Any suggestions?
Reply
Kyle Premium
I suggest creating a hosting support ticket here:

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/websites/support

You can also find this within the SiteRubix menu under the "SiteSupport"(to the left). This is where you should go if you ever have loading issues with your website, email issues, plugin/theme issues, or if you accidentally do something that adversely impacts your website.

This support is 24/7 and upon submitting your ticket we will look into it right away Chris!

Hi there, I was slightly disappointed when I read, 'built in 30 seconds' I took it literally. I can understand the walking through, but what a good selling line...... 30 seconds have website

all that aside, it was a good tutorial and very helpful Thank You

Well of course you need to watch the video, but I can build sites in 30 seconds all day. Once you get the process down, you will be able to build a website in 30 seconds, the foundation for your business.

This very SAME thing took me over 30 days to do when I started out, just to show you how far technology has come.

Hi Kyle, I have a domain that I purchased a month ago "bigresultslittleeffort.com". Would this be too generic if I want to narrow my niche to helping High School students, who can't attend college, earn big income with affiliate marketing?

I think that domain can definitely work and it is brandable. The way you "spin" your website is up to you, but I really do like that domain.

Good Day, Kyle, and thanks.
I have an "outdoor" niche site here at WA.
Can i use this website to promote WA or should my website be in an "online marketing" type of niche?
Reply
Kyle Premium
Sure, I would narrow it down a bit though. What aspect of the "outdoors" are you referring to.

When deciding on a niche and trying to narrow down to a more specific niche, I recommend you ask yourself the following question:

I want to help people that ______________.

Fill in the blank and you are going to be much closer to a specific audience. After you do this and if you want to run any further ideas by me, let me know and I will give you a hand. :)
Reply
PaulBoudreau Premium
Thanks. I am thinking about "the content that I have there already".
100 posts and -500 comments. Is this the right approach or should I simply Start Fresh. Also have a ( .ca ) domain. Does this matter? or would I be better off to go .com.
Reply
Kyle Premium
.ca will only rank in Canada. If you want to target a global audience, you will want a .com. Who is your target audience? What is your website URL?
Reply
PaulBoudreau Premium
Purchased a .com domain this morning when the world was asleep. https://www.wealthyaffiliatewarrior.com Hope this lines me up in the right direction.

Kyle, I need to register a domain name for an independent site. As a Premium Member can this be done?
Reply
Kyle Premium
You can buy domains here at WA directly through the SiteDomains platform. It is a very seamless system and we have implemented some very advanced features so you do not have to deal with the headache of DNS, whois privacy, security, upsells, or of managing your domains within a completely different account.

You can access the SiteDomains platform under the main SiteRubix menu, or you can get to it directly here.

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/websites/domains

A .com domain will usually run you under $14 per year, with other top level domains varying in price. This includes absolutely everything. You can register any of your domains there and upon purchasing, they will instantly be ready to build your website on!

JohnSr1 Premium
Kyle, so as a Premium Member the 25 free domains from SiteDomains have to be used for websites within WA, right? And if I choose to use a domain from SiteDomain for a website totally unrelated to WA I have to pay for that, right?
Reply
Kyle Premium
No, you can use your websites for whatever you like. You are in full control, what you use your websites for is up to you. In fact, we recommend you go into a niche/space that is unrelated to WA, choose a passion and move forward from there.
