So awesome, this was the best video yet. I really wish I found WA years ago I would have saved so much $$$$. I loved the easy way to get my sites up and running. I will be canceling some things this week so I can run all my programs from hear as I gravitate to learning more at WA.

Hi !
I just wanted to ask what does moving domain later means? I have no experience with websites so far and i wanted to understand that part of the process?

Also, is it possible to change and play with theme details? For example to change color of typography used in the theme?

Thanks!

It means that you can move a website from your .siterubix.com domain to a domain that you own, your very own .com domain. This can be done with a click of a button using the MOVE feature here at WA.

In respect to modifying and changing your theme settings, you can definitely do this.

If you go to Appearance => Themes (and "customize" for your particular theme ) within the back office of your website, you will likely see your home page header there which you can upload an image for.

There are typically many other settings in there as well that you can use to manipulate theme colours, font colours, theme images, logos, menus, structure/layout, etc.

See attached image for reference.

I’m fascinated with the location independent lifestyle. I have background in and a great love of homeschooling. Most homeschool families struggle financially and certainly cannot travel very much. So, what might my niche be that incorporates producing money independent of your location and that can help homeschool families become Worldschool families instead?
Reply
Kyle Premium
You can definitely head in the homeschooling direction with your niche Laura. :)

When deciding on a niche and trying to narrow down to a more specific niche, I recommend you ask yourself the following question:

I want to help people that ______________.

Fill in the blank and you are going to be much closer to a specific audience. After you do this and if you want to run any further ideas by me, let me know and I will give you a hand. :)

I have a niche idea but the web lingo is a little beyond me. So, WA helps me create 2 websites, can I import reviews and other content? I don't think my knowledge of my niche is sufficient to fill a website let alone have peel use me for their shopping.
Reply
Kyle Premium
You don't want to copy reviews and other content. Google does not like duplicate content and you will instantly lose all credibility and ranking potential within Google as a result of this. This is absolutely going to curb any chances of success with your website.

All your website content should be 100% unique. Sometimes you may need to quote something or curate a component of the content, but I don't recommend that you have any more than 5% duplicate content on a given page (ideally you would have zero).

Unique, quality content is what will lead to rankings!

You'll create your own content as you go through the training. I have looked at other people's reviews to get an idea of how to layout my content but, I always put it in my own words.

I am not sure if you can do that. As far a s I know when you are a premium member you can have links posted in your profile but if you can do something like that, I have no clue

I have a couple questions. What is the difference between using the free domain and buying your own? If I happen to buy premium for one month and decide I no longer want to pay for it, will I no longer of access to my website with a free domain or personal one?
Reply
llj-tucson Premium
If you create a free SiteRubix domain, you will have access to it forever. You have limited access to training and the WA community as a free member (after the first 7 days) but you can keep your 2 websites.

Once you're sure you really want to do this, you should definitely purchase your own domain because it helps with authority and it's easier for readers to find.you. For example, which site sounds more professional

MyBeardedDragon.com or
MyBeardedDragon.SiteRubix.com

If you purchase your own domain and you decide you don't want to continue with Wealthy Affiliate, you can move your site to another hosting provider. Just make sure you understand the relative advantages. I've been a premium member of WA for 2 years in part because I can't replace the services I have here at anywhere near the price I pay. I'm an annual member which saves me a lot of money. And, my membership includes Jaaxy. If you're going to be successful at affiliate marketing you need a keyword research tool!

I encourage you to take the full 7 days to explore WA. By the time you finish all 10 lessons, you'll have a website and you'll know if this is for you or not. I kept my SiteRubix site for about a month before I bought my own domain. Transferring my content was very easy.

You're on the right track so keep asking questions.

Such good information! Could you explain to me what you mean by "transfering your content" after you bought your own domain?

I found this to be straight forward and easy to follow. The video took the 'big mystery' out of having an online business. My question is regarding connecting to affiliate opportunities, products or programs. Do you register with the product or program you are interested in promoting and an affiliate link is assigned to you through the supplier/manufacturer? Or does WA supply you with an affiliate link? Just a little confused on that part. Thank you.

Hey Louise.

I think there's a video in the training which explains this if I remember correctly.

You can just Google affiliate companies that work in your niche and sign up with them etc. They then supply you with their links once everything is sorted.

In this video and under the Site Manager tab -- Site Protect -- does this eliminate the need for Akismet spam protection or should I still install that plugin? I have always installed Akismet at my wp sites to help catch spam. Just wondering if the site protect does that job completely.
Reply
Kyle Premium
Yes, no need for Akismet if you have this installed. It actually does A LOT of things that Akismet isn't doing, so it will be superior and won't clog up your website load speeds with Aksimet. Another benefit of using the platform here at WA.

I got my website going. Now I need help setting it up to attract an audience to offer wealthy affiliate. How is it setup to maintain a email list. Also, can I set this up to respond automatically to individuals that leave their information if they are interested, or is this already done through wealthy affiliate?

That is exactly what you are going to be learning (in detail) as you move through the training. Every website starts off as a blank canvas, you will be building it out and it will become a fully sustainable and long term business as you do move forward. :)

You can't really make any real mess ups. Fear inaction, versus fearing making mistakes. It is OK to mess up and if you follow the training and take action on that you will really limit your chances of making a mistake.

I gotcha buddy I felt a lot like you when I first started but don't get frustrated the more you learn and in my case re-learn by going back through certain aspect the clearer it gets. Plus there are many people who understand what you are feeling because they also felt that way themselves. Let them help you, keep moving forward, set goals, reach where you see yourself in one year. Like they say "Rome wasn't built in a day" good luck in your business.

Hello,
I am finally setting up a website. How do I know I have picked a good/appropriate sight for promoting the WA training program? there are so many to choose from, and I want to make sure I choose the correct Theme/Format. Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated.

Choose a theme that is simple, ideally with a white background and black text (as this is the most readable).

I tend to avoid themes with too many bells and whistles as the focus of your website will be your content and your content will make your website look visually appealing to your audience.

So choose something simple, yet elegant and if you ever need to change down the road, you can easily do so within Appearance => Themes.

There are over 3,000 to choose from there and you will also be able to upload your own from there.

I have created some training on how to do this that you should check out: You can always change your theme down the road and this is something that is commonly done through time and as you advance your website.

Smarty Helen (me) was following your initial notes and started building my website prior to doing the Bootcamp lesson. When will I ever learn!

Can I pick it up and complete it in this phase 1 lesson 3 or do I go straight to my new website and just interpolate from there?

You can do either or, whatever makes the most sense to you. ;)

Kyle thnx for the guidance, advice and words of encouragement which stuggling beginners like me badly need and I can only see may I can reverse the saying "sky is the limit" does not apply in WA's case you teach us a new vision " no limit in the sky", meaning learning and acquiring new skills and knowledge with you a continuing process and a NEVER-ENDING STORY.

Well there is no limit, the limit is going to be the time you have to dedicate to your business and the resources. I have never come across a niche or a website where I ran out of "ideas" and potential, in fact quite the contrary.

As you move through the training and learn the foundational building blocks of an online business, you are going to be in a position of too many ideas/keywords/opportunity and not enough time to take advantage of it all.

I need to strengthen first my financial position before I go premium therefore I will remain on Starter Fee Member status and such will be given free website and what other free service I be entitled to and can I earn money by choosing affiliate programmes to promote products of of others and can I continue to persue training classes etc.

If you don't have the budget to upgrade at the moment, that is completely fine. You should work through the Getting Started training (within the "Get Started Here" button in the menu) and take action.

By lesson 4 you are going to have your own niche website up and running. This is the starting point of your business and is the foundation that is going to lead you to success down the road.

When you are ready to upgrade, I know you are going to absolutely love it but at your own pace.

Great training. I am excited to get started. I have a couple of questions. Stop me if I am getting ahead of myself. First, I have a website set up through Go Daddy, can I use that through here? Also, I would like to set up another one through here, but I don't want the siterubix in the URL... is that possible? I am willing to pay for the URL if necessary to make that happen. Lastly, when editing the site, will there be access to change fonts and all? Thanks in advance!!!
Reply
Nikosth Premium
You can move your website from Go Daddy to WA if you want. You could also keep you website at Go Daddy and just apply the things you learn here at your site. You can do whatever you like the most. If your website is not hosted here you might not be able to use certain tools inside WA. Like Site Comments and Site Feedback. But you can ask for comments inside the lessons or you can use this comment thread . So, there are other options available inside WA.

You can create a website at your own domain here at WA. It is possible to host up to 25 websites of your own domains in WA with the premium membership. You can buy a domain name at site domains.Go to Site Rubix and then Site Domains. The process of how you can buy a domain name at WA is explained in the lessons ahead. But it's very easy to do it. On average they cost $12 per year. But prices vary. You can find domain names for $8 up to $18 per year.

You can edit your websites at Site Manager. You click log in and that will take you to the back office of your site. In order to change fonts, header images and stuff like that you will have to go to Appearance. That's where you can usually make this changes. But that also depends on your theme. Some themes may not allow you to change your font for example. But you have access to thousands of free WordPress themes to choose from.

Don't worry all this are explained in the next lessons.

Building a website--and understanding it--is going to take me weeks and probably months. There seems to be a lot of buttons to push, submenus, more buttons and tabs to push, etc. etc. I am extremely happy that the Wealthy Affiliate bootcamp website process is so sophisticated and full of options, but it will take me some time to learn all of it.

Of course, all part of the learning process really. Don't become an expert at anything overnight, but as you miss you the training your going to be very well versed and before you know what you're going be proficient at building websites.

So glad you are enjoying the training thus far!

As a newbie, something I found useful was to get started with a basic theme to start practising and create useful content and posts. Once I did some practice, then I changed for a more advanced theme.

Besides that, I have to praise all the functionality that WA offers to premium members such as SiteSpeed as it makes life easier for us, as we do not need additional plugins to take care of that.

Thank you!

That is the approach that lots of people take. You can start off with a very simple theme, and you can update your theme on-the-fly as he move forward. You can slide in new designs and look for your website and that is the brilliant aspect of the website platform here. :)

Sounds like you have a good handle on things they are making some good progress JL!

The video on Building Your Website makes everything look so easy. I am just discovering as I go along how much effort, money and time WA has invested to put in place the entire steps and
procedures for newbies like me to be able to build my own website, and to know exactly how it is done, This is awesome.
As I go along I am learning how to build my own website, set up
my online business but also to become an expert in the process,

you and the community team effort for guidance.
Although I do not have my own website I do have a domain name

I idea I have in mine is to promote WA to Affiliate Marketers, and
also recommend the program to persons who are going into
