One of my special tips to you in this training is how to tidy up your #'s so that when you share your post to Facebook and Twitter it is crisp and not cluttered.
Follow these simple steps to create hashtags that are still searchable yet don't show on your post and to also create a clickable link to your bio so that you can send people to where ever you want to direct them to.
But first a quick tour of some of the features that you might use.
1 This is your "like" button or "heart" button. Tap this to like peoples pictures. It will fill when you have liked the picture.
2 This is your comment button. tap this and a new comment bar will open for you to type in.
3 Use this button to forward the post on to friends and followers as a message.
So to add your ninja #'s tap button 2 as though you were going to leave a comment.
4 This is where you type to leave your comment on your own post and also anyone else's post.
5 Place your finger on the screen in position 5 and slide to the left slowly.
6 This "return" arrow will appear, give it a tap.
7 Instagram will autofil the name of the person who's comment you have just swiped. In this case it is our own name so not really very handy but I wanted to show you how to do it as we are here ;-). But if you really want to get someone's attention then this is how you do it. They will get a notification that you have commented. This can be anyone in the chatter under a post. Instagram does not yet have the reply to option like Facebook does and so the comments appear as a long list so unless you reply to someone with their @name your comment could be lost in the chatter.
You can delete your name from the comments box as you don't need it right now, like I said, I was just showing you how to do it :-)
8 Go to Notes or Evernote and create a bank of say 25 #'s that are relevant to your niche.
Add to this a short CTA (Call To Action) for people to click the link in your Bio with some jazzy hands or arrows that point to your own @name.
I have already mentioned that the only clickable link in Instagram is in your bio, however, you can click on the @name and it will take you to the bio of who ever it belongs to. This is an awesome way to direct people to your bio so that they can click on your link :-)
Copy the entire selection.
9 Now go to your post, tap the comment bubble and paste 8 into your comment.
10 Click post
11 Instagram will take you back to the beginning of your post. You can see the first couple of lines of what you pasted into the comment.
12 Tap the comment to open it up and you will see the bank of #'s too.
But why the ..... I hear you ask? Well if you are simply going to add the #'s without the CTA, which is not necessary on every post, then typing .return.return.return.return.return type words will be enough to take your bank of #'s to below the eyeline of the comment so people wont actually realise it is a comment at all. Try it with another post and you will see what I mean.
13 This is your @name, your link to your bio, you can see it is blue which means that it is clickable.
14 In clicking the @name it bounces you straight to your bio where the link can be clicked for your website or offer.
It is a great idea to make a bank of #'s for different occasions. I have one for #Motivation, #Food, #Gym, #HomeBiz plus a couple of others that I have build for special occasions like training days. I find it is great to match the #'s to the content of the picture and the message that I am putting across. This keeps the post relevant to people who search the #'s and helps to keep your audience Ninja targeted.
** NEW FEATURE**
Released just this week, you can now like/heart people comments.
Doing this is great practice as it shows appreciation
You will see a little heart alongside the comment. Just tap this and it will go red.
