Many newbies to the Wealthy Affiliate training platform come here with various different expectations and goals. But the majority come here to learn how to earn revenue online while working from home and doing so in a way that is fun.
Though this is a concept that is quite attractive, it does require some smart planning before setting off on your training and building journey. Unfortunately many are so over-excited or overwhelmed by this concept and they draw a blank when having to choose a niche.
Choosing your niche is the important first step and it should be your choice. There will be those who make the mistake of thinking that the niche they have selected is too competitive and/or over saturated. These are both concerns that are highly overrated.
ANY NICHE CAN BE PROFITABLE
You can be quite profitable in any niche market you choose to be involved with. The trick is not to choose a niche based on how much money you think you can earn but rather how much information you can provide to help people who are interested in your niche.
It is relatively important to select a niche you have a passion for, one you have a great interest in, because it will show in the content you write. When you are passionate about something, what can most of us do with that passion? Talk endlessly about it.
Think of it this way. If you wanted to take a road trip with your friend and you had a couple of exciting destinations in mind but cannot choose which one, would you feel happy if your friend picked a different destination and told you they would guide you there?
At first it might seem like an exciting concept. But after hours of them telling you which turn to make and which road to take, not knowing when your destination would come, could make you lose interest. This is not what you want to happen when choosing the niche for your website business.
Take the time to learn the simple concept of what is a niche and which niches you are involved with. We are all involved with many niches every single day, just pick the one that you enjoy the most. Do not think that this will be your only niche website. You will more than likely create a few as the years go by.
NEXT UP = Why choosing your own niche will yield better results in the long run.
As a traveller ( I constantly travel) I actually found signing up to Affiliate companies a nightmare, as they all want an address, a phone number, a bank account....etc.
This is all very well if you are living in one home, but I don't. I have been on the road over 2 years.
Also, importing and exporting goods is a nightmare if in the cosmetics industry, which I am.
I am still struggling with that.
Amazon....only pay into a bank account if you have an address in the USA, otherwise it's a cheque! ...to a home address.
All these things have pushed me to leave the affiliate Bootcamp to the end, Lol.
I am glad I have been concentrating on the lessons first.
Thank you for this training it will help new members get on track.
I have been with WA since 2013 and I've never really understood the difference between the Affiliate Bootcamp and the Certification Courses--until now. I started with the Affiliate Bootcamp first because I did not have a niche. What you have said in this post makes a lot of sense, so I will start the Certification Course and see what happens. Thanks for explaining the difference between the two courses.

I probably shouldn't do this but I find that I'm flying through the bootcamp with no problems, even skipping some parts cause I already know how to do a lot of things. This could be a mistake though because my 2nd site has not been indexed by google yet and its been 10 days, had I missed something? If it doesn't get indexed in another week I'll have to go over everything again slowly... ah, should have just done that the first time.
I plan on having 4-5 blogs in the next year or two. diversification is the key to a reliable passive income, you never wanna put all your eggs on one site.
