Why is Page Speed Crucial?

As changes occur in technology and it becomes more feasible to improve your site with plugins, frameworks, media content, scripts, and many more, it’s castigatory not to ignore this basic user experience parameter that can turn the one-time visitors into returning users.

These days, with mobile web usage overshooting desktop, page load time is an extremely crucial signal that impacts conversion rates, user experience, and organic rankings on all of your users’ devices.

According to research from Google, 53 percent of the overall visits are usually evacuated if it takes pages longer than three seconds to load. Over a 3G connection, the average load time is 19 seconds for mobile sites.

Google has considered page speed to be a crucial ranking signal for desktop searches over the years (since 2010) and most recently, a more integrated update has been rolled out again which made page speed one of the top ranking signals for mobile searches – meaning – if your site isn’t mobile-optimized, it’s impossible to rank in search results.

If you’re looking for a useful tool for tracking your page speed, I would recommend PageSpeed Insights. It’s built by Google itself and will analyze your current page speed status as well as suggest what you can do to improve on both desktop and mobile devices for better rankings on search engine results pages (SERPs).

In this tutorial, we’ll discuss some key signals that help improve the page load time and the next line of action to speed up your organic ranking.

Hey Mary, the percentage you stated here is relatively low compared to the expected 85 percent which symbolizes that your page speed is okay. And this will impact your rankings seriously on search engine results pages. Try increasing your page speed by following the blogging fundamentals. Thanks for your comment!
