People ask me all the time: "When is the best time to Tweet?"

The simple answer is everyday. But knowing when exactly to pounce on trending topics is important.

There are a few tools on the internet that let's you see trending topics on Twitter. Do some research and find one that you feel comfortable with. If you don't want to use an outsourced application, you can just hop over to Twitter itself and see what the current trending topics are.

As you can see in the picture:
#ALDubEBforLOVE trending at 20.2 Million Tweets
#ShowtimeKapmilyaDay trending at 6 Million Tweets
#PopeinNYC trending at 140,000 Tweets.

So what does this mean? Why should you care?

I don't care if your niche is Health & Beauty, or How to Walk Your Dog. You better damn well be taking full advantage of huge outpours like these. Huge world events are major Twitter juice. The VMA's this year brought in 21.4 Million Tweets. The Superbowl brought in 26 Million Tweets.

As a marketer, and as a marketing stand-point. Every single person is a lead. Every single person is a potential sale. Do your research. Find out what the hashtags are about if you are unaware, and then us them.

Let's dive into some examples. For anyone not knowing what the whole AlDub craze is, It's a Filipino day time television show that is currently crushing the Twitterverse. With multiple days/weeks ranking 10-20m+ on their Hashtags. The community is very strong and very passionate about it.

Showtime Kapmilya Day is another popular Filipino television show.

Do either of these have ANYTHING to do with my niche? Hell no. But you have to remember. Twitter is a Social Media Platform. You need to be Social. You need to build relationships. You need to grow your following. All can be done by using popular hashtag outbursts.

Below was a tweet I pushed out asking the AlDub Nation and Showtime Nation to make love not war.

You can see that 70 people retweeted it, along with another 40 people that favorite'd it. If you click the statistics button on the tweet you can also view the results which are shown below:

Over 3,600 impressions. 70 retweets, 40 favorites, 20 profile clicks, 2 follows.

Those stat's are amazing for 1 simple tweet.

Interact with the people. Click the hashtag to jump to the list. Retweet important tweets. Show that you are interested. Someone tweets you? Tweet them back. Build that trust. Build that relationship. All can ultimately lead to future traffic and sales.

Below are a few more examples of me using this hashtag to maximize my own gain.

Over 2,200 impressions, 48 retweets, 16 favorites, 12 profile clicks. Now, notice I didn't get any "direct" new followers from this tweet. However, you can still gain new followers over all. If they clicked this tweet, then clicked to something else, then back to your profile and followed you, then it isn't tracked in the tweet.

Over 2,600 impressions, 54 retweets, 19 favorites, 35 profile clicks! This tweet directly mentioned the 2 star's of the show as well. Giving even more exposure.

This one caught me off guard. I was trying to finish strong and with developing relationships I gained this HUGE burst.

Over 9.300 impressions, 242 retweets, 101 favorites, 45 profile clicks, 10 follows.

Have you ever had any of your tweets see these results? Well, you can if you start doing research and seeing what's the hot topic of the day.

This was a total of 3-4 hours max. I gained well over 300 new followers. Had numerous interactions and saw an increased outburst of traffic to selected sites. If you know a major event is upcoming, be sure to jump on Twitter and take advantage of it.

This is a touchy topic per say to marketers. You have some that say:

"You want to gain targeted followers to your business to generate sales."

Then you have others that say:

"Gain a mass following and sales will naturally come."

I tend to agree with both statements. It honestly all depends on your own Twitter Presence and what your over all goals are. If you are an established business, then the above mentioned may not be the right approach for you. However, if you are just an Entrepreneur getting out there, then you would be absolutely crazy not to be doing this method.

Remember, this training is basically my own personal opinion.

It works.

If you choose to use it and see results, then I applaud you. If you choose not to use it or feel that it isn't for you, then no hard feelings.

Be sure to go through Robert's Part I and Part II of the Twitter basics... Then go through mine for the advanced stuff =) Take your time and don't get too overwhelmed -- Twitter can give you a headache just as fast as the other Social Media Platforms.

Don't be hesitant to ask Robert or myself any questions on either training module. Twitter is easily set-up, but takes awhile to master.

Wow John! This is a long one. Too late (or early, however you look at it). I'll have to come back and read it.
I have Twitter, but I've only been on it a couple of times recently. I used to use TweetDeck. It was soo much easier to use for Twitter.
