This is the fun part... Building out your store...

Step 3: You will notice now that you have added your plugin you have two new options on your dashboard side menu. WooCommerce and Products. We will go through the product tab first.

When you click on products you will have the following options;

To add your product simply click on add product. When you do, a familiar window will show up on the right. The add product process is very similar to how we add pages and posts to our sites.

The great thing about your first time through the product development, WooCommerce will walk you through what to do to create your product. But incase any of you missed it, I captured the info for you here.

You have your title at the top. Then of course the next step would be to write a description for your product. Incase you are wondering where this description will show up on your site... When a customer clicks on an item in your store it will open a larger version, the description you right here will show up under your product in a description tab. There is a second tab there as well for customer comments on the product when you get some.

Where it says Product data, there is a drop down menu of different product types, I chose the simple product option for this example assuming most of you here would be selling PDF and web based products.

Once you have decided what type of product you are offering, you will then need to add a price to it.. You have probably noticed the sale price line as well, you can always come back and edit the product and add a sale price of needed.

When you choose the Downloadable option, an extra step will show up. This step will allow you to add your file from your computer, and put an expiry if you desire.

This description is separate from the detailed one above. When the product is clicked on, this description shows up to the right of the product. You can add images here along with the text if you would like. Just as it appears in this window, it will appear beside your product.

Lets carry on...

Hi Lynzy, it's listed on Sophie5391's profile page and it should be listed on the right side menu under the "Training" section...you'll have to scroll down a bit to see it.

Hope that helps!
Best wishes :) ~Sherry

Your a darling Sophie! Thanks so much. This is great.

Just a quick question. If I am selling an affiliate product does it allow for those links in the page?

Cheers, Kev

Hi Kev, I'm happy that this offers some help :) and yes, when you are creating your main description or product description in the new product window, the same icon and process we would use to add affiliate links to our pages and posts is available for you... good question!
