While there is a good number of ways to build high-quality links, here is a straightforward link building tactic you can begin implementing today.

Method 1: Start Rebranding Your Content

Content is the lubricant that fuels online marketing. Thus, many people create fresh and compelling content on their blogs consistently. However, don't regard a blog as the final destination for any piece of content you may create. Rather, you should leverage the numerous content channels and article directories accessible to you and rebrand your content to meet the requirements of all of your audience.

All your content can be effectively rewritten. You can re-compose it from an alternate point of view or change it from a blog article into one of the forms below:

A video

An infographic

An intuitive piece, for example, an interactive test

A slide deck

Whichever way you’ve decided to rebrand your content, you must keep in mind the significance of making sure that each content piece is fresh, original and unique.

Method 2: Submit Your Content to Quality Sites

With some compelling content in place, you can start looking for sites that might be interested in having your work featured as a guest post. So, recall, you wouldn’t want to generate links on any arbitrary site. You’ll need to be on the lookout for quality blogs, sites, or assets that will bring your site traffic and potential clients.

How would you go about this? Begin by discovering sites that are accepting quality writers as guest posters – the ones that suit your specialty. You can do this in a couple of ways:

  • You can use various search phrases;
  • You can get in touch with blog authors that published posts on LinkedIn or Twitter recently;
  • You can leverage the WordPress third-party plug-ins such as My Blog Guest and others.

Keep in mind: You don't need just links. Be on the lookout for sites with a lot of backlinks and organic traffic and with a very high page and domain authority. The good way to build high-quality links is to generate links from websites that have a higher domain and page authority than yours. You can track the needed info by leveraging this free domain authority checker.

Thanks for stopping by, FKelso! Yes, link building has been ignored by some struggling veteran bloggers and it's making such people lag behind in the online market. What most people have failed to realize about building links is that it's an extremely crucial ranking signal in Google's search algorithm.

So, friend, if you've been working diligently and persistently on content alone (Not building links at all), know that you're going to rank in the real sense but not at the topmost level at all. With building out content alone, it may take you through a period of 13-14 years to reach the Google PageRank score of 6/10, whereas, you can reach up to 8.0/10 in a couple of years if you're building both content and links.

Warning: Keep in mind that you're going to get slapped by search engines if you try implementing the black hat SEO strategy to build links. This is a clear signal to Google and other major search engines that you're building low-quality links which is subject to severe penalty. Thanks for contributing!

Question: We've been told to put in at least one internal link and one external link. I am assuming these are in addition to any affiliate links you may have in the post. Do you feel that one internal and one external are enough?

Not at all, FKelso! The kind of links you need to boost your Google Page Rank score as talked about in this tutorial is different from the affiliate links you're talking about here. You might be used writing content alone and that may likely prevent you from improving your ranking on time.

You actually need hundreds and even thousands of quality backlinks for your blog to rank high in search engines and some of the ways to accomplish this has been suggested in the tutorial among many others. If you still need more awesome ways to build high-quality backlinks to your site, don't hesitate to get back to me. Thanks for stopping by!
