6. Comment Actively on Social Media
Commenting on social media is a completely free technique or tool at your own disposal to showcase your expertise and forward a message across to prospects.
When you post Tweets on Twitter, craft a status on Facebook, or leave comments on YouTube, you’re simply commenting on social media. I still wonder why most people aren’t yet leveraging the power of social media commenting, probably because they haven’t been told this way.
With just one comment left on Facebook, you could potentially generate 1-3 regular paying clients for a long time. I’ve experienced that before. I once got a client like that on Facebook with just a good comment left on his FB post. When he read that comment, he got impressed and got to know about my freelance writing service, and the remaining part was a full story.
7. Follow Hashtags on Social Media
This seems to be a mind-blowing strategy for finding untapped freelance writing opportunities – which you’ve probably missed out in the past. Following hashtags is something that sounds so simple. It’s quite simple on Instagram because you simply need to search for a hashtag using the search section and follow the hashtag.
On Twitter, you can leverage a standalone tool that could get that job done for you since you know Twitter does not have the in-built feature for following hashtags. So, you can use tools like Twchat, Tweetdeck, or Tchat for following a hashtag.
However, to really ensure you’re following the right hashtags for finding and building connections with the right prospects, it doesn’t all end in just following hashtags. For instance, I would follow hashtags like #FreelanceWriter to ensure I’m following the right platforms that are in need of a freelance writer or blogger.
