An effective Twitter strategy should get you all the right engagements, right?

Not really!

Quite frankly, I wish it was really that simple, but it isn't. There are "little" mistakes that could add up and prevent you from having a successful Twitter campaign.

While this isn't an exhaustive list, I will be offering you tips to help avoid 7 of those mistakes.

1 - Unimpressive Twitter Profile

This is one of the common mistakes people make on Twitter. Most people never get to find out that a less impressive Twitter profile does much harm. And that's because no one sends you a DM telling you how bad your profile looks.

If you must know, people form an opinion about you or your brand after visiting your profile. So, the first place to optimize is your Twitter profile.

Set a proper profile picture of you (preferably headshot) and a well-designed cover photo that says something nice about you.

Let your bio include your professional work or business with a clearly stated position.

Well laid out Israel. Accompanying graphics are easily the most overlooked item... Thanks for sharing.

Absolutely right, Mark! Most people do not pay particular attention to having a well-structured Twitter profile, so when people visit to check it out, they see nothing that will intrigue them. Thanks again, my friend!

Thanks Israel, great advice. I will only use 2 hashtags from now on.

You got it right, Jenny! You need just two hastags per tweet and need to tweet as many times as possible a day. Do this consistently for up to a six-month period and you'll see a ton of traffic flood your site.

Absolutely, correct, Ayodeji! You focus much rather on engaging your followers than building a huge number of Twitter followers out of which over 40% are mere bots. Thanks for your great contribution!
