Content writing is one of the most prominent freelancing careers. And the media through which freelance writers get hired include social media platforms, freelancing platforms, blogs, and many more. Several blogging experts have discussed the various ways to get freelancing clients, but I’m yet to read a post that talks about content writing techniques.
So, I considered it good enough to come up with 5 writing techniques freelance writers need to learn and follow for creating better and more useful content.
I want to let you know right off the bat that I figured out those writing techniques the hard way during my years of freelancing.
Also, hear this again; I was completely an amateur in the beginning of my freelancing journey and still don’t believe I’m competent enough yet. But I know I’ve gone a long way in the past few years of freelancing.
Thus, if you’re just getting started and are seriously baffled as to what you’re going to write about (constantly experiencing writer’s block), then be cleared about it and take steps ahead. I do a couple of things every day to improve my expertise:
- I read eBooks
- I follow industry related blogs
- I watch videos on YouTube
- I watch Netflix
- I publish quality content on Medium and LinkedIn
- I listen to podcasts regularly
- I use writing tools such as Grammarly, Language Tool, and others.
My honest advice is take steps ahead. You have to do something about it if you truly want to get to places in the online world.
Do you know I’ve created over 280 training tutorials on WA and hundreds of blog posts across related blogs from 2018 to 2019 alone?
Now, I’ve written an eBook on content-writing, and a few years back, I had no clue of where freelancing would take me.
Often, I listen while walking or running errands I can keep focus.
My mind goes into reflection and process mode, turning information into creation mode. Once home, I set to pen and paper with notes flowing onto the paper, always in cursive writing, BTW. ...Seed planting.
The only thing I might add, ...Take action on the knowledge!!
Thanks, Israel!
This was my today's first bit of motivation to DO!
Best!
