2. Using Appealing Words
I want to make the phrase “Appealing words” clear enough as I always find simple words most appealing in writing and blogging. In communication skills, a vocabulary is of no meaning and use once the recipient cannot pick the point in your message.
So, my description of appealing words has evolved over time as I prefer using words that are simple yet making a lot of sense, useful and meaningful.
For instance, I’d prefer using:
- Unclear to Ambiguous
- Nonsense to Abracadabra
- Peer to Contemporary
- Rusty to Tarnished
Nothing is absolutely wrong with making use of those words in your write-ups unless you aren’t sure of the message they’re passing across.
Appealing words are, of course, simpler versions of those embellished words you hear in particular Hollywood movies and Netflix shows.
When you’re creating a blog or social media post, you must try to focus on appealing (simple yet meaningful) words that help readers comprehend and digest your perspectives easily. One of the good things in using an appealing word is readers find it easy to grab the context in no distant time.
Often, I listen while walking or running errands I can keep focus.
My mind goes into reflection and process mode, turning information into creation mode. Once home, I set to pen and paper with notes flowing onto the paper, always in cursive writing, BTW. ...Seed planting.
The only thing I might add, ...Take action on the knowledge!!
Thanks, Israel!
This was my today's first bit of motivation to DO!
Best!
