2 - Add Captions to Your Videos
This reminds me of the Indian movies (from Bollywood) that so many have come to love, especially the female folks.
Several viewers do not understand a single word that is spoken or written, but almost all can follow the movies – simply because these videos have English subtitles every viewer can read.
Imagine those videos not coming with these subtitles or captions! The videos would probably have a local viewership base.
And that's the same with videos that have no captions included. Such videos would not appeal that much to viewers with hearing difficulties.
They would also have lost viewers who may not want to turn on the audio for whatever reasons. And most importantly, Google bots need as much video text as possible to correctly rank your videos.
Using captions isn't a bad idea; as a matter of fact, it is an SEO best practice that helps Google better understand your videos.
3 - Use Attractive Thumbnails
The first impression really does matter, especially when it comes to attracting viewers to your videos. And that's why you need to use attractive, high-quality thumbnails to sell your videos.
Thumbnails are tiny looking images displayed when your videos are not playing.
For example, a visit to the YouTube home page will show you a page that is filled with lots of videos. And what you actually see are pictures or graphic designs in the same place where the videos are.
By clicking on any of those images, any viewer would be directed to the video. Thumbnails can be auto-generated, or could be designed by you.
If you do not include a thumbnail when uploading a video on YouTube, it will be generated for you by YouTube. And chances are, the resulting thumbnail might not be the best that should be offered.
So instead, it's much better to create thumbnails for your videos yourself. You can then create something so attractive and compelling that would impress viewers to watch your videos.
