Unless your website has high volume, consistent traffic to it, then you can't just site back, publish a post, and wait for traffic to come to it.

You need to be proactive about it. There are many different off-page SEO techniques and practices out there you can make a part of your routine to get your newly published post off to a great start.

In this tutorial video I'm concentrating on 3 very basic and simple techniques you should add to your routine that are easy and not at all time consuming.

Hi Eric,
I don't know how to use google search console, the fact is it is the first time I know about. How can I start in search console? I receive an instruction to upload in my site some file, but I couldn't do it, how can you or anyone else help me?

After I do "Fetch as Google" for both mobile and desktop, there is a button, that says "Request Indexing". This is next to the "Status" column. My status shows "Complete" and next to that is the "Request Indexing" button. I click on this button, and it gives me the options to "Crawl this URL", or "Crawl this URL and direct links". I am not sure what to do with this. Any ideas?

Check the box "I AM NOT A ROBOT" - then select "Crawl This URL" - that will usually suffice, especially if you don't have or need to crawl your direct links. You are limited in the number of times you can submit the crawl to all direct links, too.

Mister Mike answered this correctly. You can check the "Crawl this URL" when you get to that option. Good question! Thanks for the comment. Hopefully this can help others!

I also add my url to bing webmaster tools.

Also I use https://pingler.com/ and http://blogsearch.google.com/ping and
http://digg.com/submit
https://pingomatic.com/

:)

I share also to flipboard, stumbleupon

Also it's worth doing the same stuff with your youtube video urls

apart from submitting to bing and search console, that is...

Yes. Bing webmaster tools is definitely a good one and while I'm not into digg at all the other ping sites are great recommendations.

Thanks JimBo! You're the man. Long time no talk!

I just tried to fetch the mobile and a redirected warning is showing. What's that all about?
Reply
RD40 Premium
I think it automatically fetches to my mobile as it is saying it is being redirected to my amp post.

Both desktop and mobile fetching are just nudges to get Google to maybe do them sooner, but in reality, Google sends out the spiders to crawl your site regularly, so if you happen to forget one or the other or both it's not the end of the world. Just good practice to be actively reminding google you got new stuff is all :)
