Not Building Engagement with Your Readers
I’ve seen bloggers who don’t build engagement with their readers at all. They only focus on the writing and do not care to build relationship with their readers. They see commenting as a waste of time and believe it does attract any incentive so far it’s pointless for SEO.
Not building engagement with your visitors doesn’t mean your blog won’t rank in search engines but you’ll be missing out seriously in the area of brand awareness and recognition building. Also, you’ll be missing out on the incentives awarded by Google for engagement building.
Not Doing Proper Promotion of Your Blog Content
If you always feel guilty at promoting your blog content, you might be missing out on some traffic exposure for that blog. So far you’re not writing for yourself alone, you will have to spread the word in the legit way such that it has no effect on SEO.
There are legit ways to promote your blog content. These include sending blog broadcasts to subscribers (Email marketing), sharing blog posts on social media, posting quality answers on Quora and many more.
Not Creating Bonds with Industry Bloggers
I strongly considered this to be one of the most horrific blogging mistakes in that some bloggers (Not all) do think that they’re wasting a lot of time by visiting, commenting on & submitting guest posts to blogs.
You’re not expected to do all of these but it is necessary to observe some of them especially reading & commenting on blog posts in your industry.
