Another Day Another Page
If a website is a virtual store then I find the art of building a website similar to building a house.
I start off with a plan, then I layout my lines, dig my footings, set my foundation, frame my structure, sheath my framing, and add all my electrical and plumbing.
Now I can start adding all the decorative stuff like cabinets and wall coverings, flooring moldings and fixtures. Paint and landscape and then move in all the furnishings and accessories.
I never tire of watching this process unfold. Watching something go from imagination to manifestation.
In regards to building my website, I am at the sheathing my framing stage. So it will be a bit before it's ready to market to customers. But I'm okay with the process because I enjoy each stage of the unfolding.
This is day 8 of my 30 lessons in 30 days and I'm still working diligently.

I like, your method, Rick.
Foundation first, then the overall structure and then the 'trimmings.' When it's ready...turn on the lights.
Fix anything that was not aligned properly.
Good stuff mate.
Paul.
If you have a good foundation everything else goes easier.
Thanks for your comments, Paul.
May I ask you- did you start it from scratch? I mean - never ever doing websites? How does it feel? You should have told me you go on a journey....))
Yes, I'm starting from scratch, Vera. I'm getting more comfortable with the process. The best part is the feeling of belonging to the community.
I not sure what journey you're referring to.
Another Challenge Richard, I am sure you will rise to the occasion as you did with the last one. Hope we hear some of the lessons you learn.
Cheers Kev
Great job Trailhound! I'm not a builder, but I compare it to building a shopping mall with hundreds of shopfitters running about putting the finishing touches the night before opening :)
Well, I'm not quite to that mad rush yet, Alan. It will be a little while yet before I'm ready for opening night. Thanks for your comments.
