Am I Doing the Amazon Thing All Wrong?
This was inspired by a WA blog posted by Chrissies, but I didn't want to clog up her thread, so here goes...
I just recently signed up for the Amazon affiliate program, and I am now seeing in other blogs here that there is some phrase that I need to include word for word. I did find some information about warning my visitors of the affiliate links, so right now I worked that into my affiliate disclosure and placed it in an obvious place at the top of my sidebar, so it does automatically show on every page without me manually typing out the warning.
But am I doing it wrong if I don't have the phrase word for word? If so, where do I find that phrase? I didn't see it when signing up. My current disclosure covers Amazon, but it's not an exact phrase taken from Amazon.
Here's a link to my site if someone wants to be kind and take a look. Please tell me if I'm doing it wrong because I don't want to end up getting denied: https://fictionwritingsuccess.com/

It's nothing that has to be word for word. You can just google an affiliate disclosure and use one you like. The key thing is that it should be visible from any page or post where a user may encounter an affiliate link, so having it in your menu or sidebar clearly visible from everywhere on your site is a good spot :)
I don't have the full disclosure visible on every page. It says Affiliate Disclosure followed by "I use some affiliate links on this website. Please see my Affiliate Disclosure for further information." and I have a link to the full disclosure from that sentence...is that enough?
As long as the link to the disclosure is clearly visible on any page where a reader could find an affiliate link, you're good to go. If it's in your main menu or sidebar that's fine :)
Okay, thank you so much! I think I'm covered then.
