Of Bora Bora, Great Walls and Reaching the Endgame
Bora Bora. Two weeks, 10 grand, and a lovely lady of my acquaintance. It’s one of the few items on my proverbial bucket list, which isn’t long, because I tend to view my actions as a part of my overall endgame. I’m one of those people to whom accomplishment is an end in itself, so I spend very little time engaging in flights of fancy. Nevertheless, Bora Bora and I have business, and I will not be deterred.
The thing is, I will not undertake such a trip unless it comes entirely out of disposable income. Some friends have said “save up,” but my view is that if income must be saved to attain a thing, then it is not really disposable. Therein lies the rub. While, as I am sure that you have noticed, my posts here tend to be personal, they are still tied into the whole model here at Wealthy Affiliate. So then, what exactly in the name of Kyle and Carson does this have to do with anything?
AN important part in maintaining motivation is to set goals; not just medium to long term goals, but also short term goals that have absolutely nothing to do with anything but your own pleasure and satisfaction. Replacing my income so that I can quit working is not a goal of mine. Replacing my income so that it is irrelevant to my work is. Helping others make money online is a goal, but I am in the beginning stages of the physician, heal thyself model, so that is not exactly on the front burner.
This leaves a certain beautiful tropic paradise in the midst of French Polynesia. There is no lasting value in journeying to Bora Bora, it is simply a matter of personal utility. My mind has decided that I must have it, and so I shall. Earning enough supplementary income so that it is truly disposable is a critical part of this undertaking.
My point is, make the grand plans, but don’t forget to also make the stop and smell the roses plans as well. Building the Great Wall is a far off thing, and human nature being what it is, not being able to do so today may discourage you. However, planning to make enough to have breakfast in Brussels and dinner in Paris in a single day is more attainable in the short term, and looking forward to it will help keep you in the game long enough to finish building that wall. Enough lofty metaphors for the day…
Bora Bora. I’m just saying.

Great post Tarnell and I respect your perspective on things. You got a good head on your shoulders and I look forward to seeing your success. Maybe I'll see you in Bora, Bora... funny thing is, it's a goal I recently told my wife about as well, with the process being perceived in a very relative manner. Blessings..
I am glad to see that my insanity is not unique to me, lol. Thank you for your encouragement, BeGreat.
