Lessons from the Super Bowl
Seattle lost the Super Bowl. That sucks, not because I am a Seattle fan (I'm not), but because I detest the Patriots. Having wasted hours of my life that I will not get back watching grown men cause lasting bodily harm to one another, I thought for a few moments to see if there were any lessons I could learn from this game. Because everything in life is a teaching tool, it turns out that there were.
The first lesson I learned was that while there is an element of luck to success, it only applies to those who work hard and are prepared. New England won chiefly because Seattle's coaches made a terrible playcall at the end, but it would not have mattered if they had not already put themselves in position to benefit from this stroke of luck. Tom Brady and company put a lot of work and effort into their craft in the offseason, making the work they do during the season even more valuable. It has often been said that games are not won on Sundays, but in the offseason and during weekly practices. Similarly, keyword research, subject research, getting an understanding of our target market and link/split-testing will place us in a position to catch lightning in a bottle in our marketing effort.
Back to the playcalling, Seattle lost because they stopped doing what makes them successful. There is nothing fancy about what they do on offense or defense. They line up and run on offense, and use the running game to spread the field for both passes and zone scrambles by their quarterback. They play a basic defense where everyone simply does their jobs. The call at the goal line that called for a pass that attempted to catch the Pats' defense off guard was out of character for Seattle. Thus, they gave away a game that was theirs for the taking.
Content marketing, which is the core of what is taught here at Wealthy Afiiliate, works. It always has, even before there was an Internet, and it always will. Trying to take shortcuts such as blackhat marketing and push button software will only cause you to cough the game away at the goal line, and unlike the Seahawks, who will likely be fine, you may never recover, as your reputation will have been shot.Well, I've things to do, and I'll chat with you ladies and gents later.
