Parenting is an art

I attended a parenting course last weekend organised by my son's nursery. I found it very beneficial and very informative which I would like to share it. Irregardless you are a parent, not yet a parent or going to be a parent, parenting is just way of communication.

Part 1 of the session is building strong foundations starts with the role of the family. Family play a very important role for growing children as family provides support, provides fun, provides a moral compass and is the place where children learn to relate. This will craft the child's future mindset which determine his/her future character.

Part 2 of the session is forming a healthy family life. Here, it emphasized on the important of play, the importance of bonding and establishing routines.

Play is the main job of a child, parents should encourage playtime. This include using their imagination,learning skills, playing on their own and others, indoor and outdoor play and limiting screen time.

For children, love spelt 'T-I-M-E'. Have you spend enough quality time with your children? Who will be your child's main caregiver? We have to prioritize our time to cater for our children's need.

Established routines such as bedtime routines so that children get enough sleep and provides natural opportunities to talk to and pass on our value to our children.

There are no perfect parents in this world but we can learn and grow with our children to make the growing process PERFECT!
