Bot new domain from GoDaddy yesterday. Set the Nameservers properly. Rubix shows that all this is done, but when I try to log in, all I get is "Site parked free by Godadday."
New site - why can't I get to wp to work on it?

click on site rubix..then site manager to log into your dashboard so you can start building your site. The link comes up for me as well. It is not a parked domain
I appreciate your trying to help, but that is not the answer.
I know what you are saying - have been doing that for almost 24 hours. BUT cannot get to the dashboard. If I could there would be no problem.
When I click on site manager, it brings up my three sites. If I try logging in to the others, it goes to the dashboard just fine.
But when I do the same thing on the Ferris site, it does NOT work - acts as if the site is parked.?????
Some kind of glitch somewhere - but where or how?
Hopefully someone knows what to do - I don't.
AHA! That is what I needed - did not know we had such in WA, but found it.
Thank you very, very much.

I have been building websites for over a decade - but never very good because I have never found the super training like we have with WA.
What I 'do' is affiliate marketin
Yes, you can do that. Your site can be a static website.
And this has nothing to do with WA.
By default, WP makes the home page (http://yourdomain.com) point to the Blogroll. That happens no matter where the site is hosted.
If you don't want to have a blogroll, go to Settings > Reading and set your front page to a static page of your choice. When someone visits your main URL, http://yourdomain.com, they will arrive at your static page.
Some themes automatically include a "Home" or "Blog" menu item linked to the main URL. So go to the Menu section and make sure that you don't have any other conflicting menu items pointing to the main URL.
If your theme enables comments and discussions on Pages, then you can enable comments for the pages that you wish to have them.

I do NOT want a blog, I want a website. Will this change automatically down the road - or am I somehow on the wrong trail?
James
The websites are set up using Pages, and Posts. Posts are typically on a blog roll (you post regularly, this is new information that you want to share) whereas the Pages are more static. Having a blog based site really helps in rankings in Google because it gives you the opportunity to share lots of relevant information on a regular basis, to drive traffic to your website. Clear as mud? Hope this helps. Sarah
Thanks, Sarah,
I think so. Thus, even though it is set up as a blob(able) site, the pages are static (as I am used to in other sites I have built) - and I don't necessarily have to DO anything about the fact it is a blog. Is that correct?
James
For Pages, no, you could technically set them up and leave them, however Google Likes you more if you blog regularly with relevant content.

I will personalize and make it my own, but I would like to have an idea of what others are saying - both on the first message and on the 3 day followups, etc.
Thanks,
Jam
Hello. I think you can just browse the profile pages of newcomers and scroll down the welcome replies from Kyle, Carson, and others. And you will probably get the content ideas you need. The newcomers are highlighted in the middle of the WA homepage. But really, you could randomly click anyone and scroll down because we were all newcomers at one point.
Hello! My opinion is just be yourself. I didn't make my welcome messages yet, but will do . The most important thing is that every new member knows that you are here for her/him.

Do we have some good ideas for the welcome messages?
