I was an ungifted runner when I was growing up. I always seemed to have to work harder than everyone on the team to get the same results. But that didn't stop me. I read every inspirational biography I could get my hands on. Back then, that was even hard. All I had was the local small town library, and when they ran out of books I had to order them which took forever. But, in the long run it was worth it. I never became a great runner but I learned a valuable life lesson, do it daily. One of the stories I would repeatedly run through in my head at 5AM when I was on a five mile run before school was that of Ron Hill the elite English marathoner. Hill did not miss a day of running for 49 years. Hill defines a "run" as completing a distance of at least one mile at any pace. His streak includes workouts after a car crash in 1993 when Hill broke his sternum, and after bunion surgery, after which he used a crutch to cover one mile in 27 minutes the next day. In December 2013, his streak ended in its 50th year; his total logged lifetime mileage was at 158,628. There are numerous stories that have gotten me through the tough times and the many days that I just asked myself, "Is this really worth it?" In the end, it was. In fact, I still use the inspirational stories with my online presence. I write, wait, write, talk, write, email and wait. Success is around the corner. We are very lucky to have this resource (Wealthy Affiliate) I would hate to have to use a card catalog and a microfiche reader to get to where I am now! The key is do it daily. Even if you need a crutch!
