Should I leave the f*ck out of it?
Hey WA’ers
I hope you’re all having a wonderful day, evening, week, month etc…etc….
I have decided to drop one of my projects because I don’t think it will make me any money. And, that’s what we are here to do right, make money!?!
Get that financial and time freedom by following the training, writing the content, utilising social media and all that jazz!
So, I have made the decision to go down a path that isn’t about a huge passion of mine and instead focus on blogging and posting about making money online.
The trouble is all the domain names I wanted to use with the words freedom or path were taken. Typical!
And then I had a marvellous thought enter my head and I typed the words into the domain name finder here at WA and after trying 100’s of different versions of a domain name with the previously mentioned words in this one just popped up as available.
Now, I need to tell you a bit about me so there is a bit of substance to why I think the .com I’ve chosen is good
I am a man who says what he thinks and doesn’t beat around the bush (other than in this post! Normally I’m straight to the point 😂)
If you know me, I don’t mince my words and in fact had a successful-ish blog about beards a few years back where I wrote what I thought, swearing and cursing and just being honest and it was pretty popular.
So, I thought this could potentially work with a make money online website. Be my honest self and stop being all professional and boring and la de da about my blogs.
Here’s the thing, the domain name could be classed as offensive (not that I care about offending people, if it’s done the right way of course) and not sure if it will actually work.
My target audience would be mainly working men (before you call me sexist there are thousands of “this is for the working mums” blogs and instas) who are stuck in jobs they hate and can’t find a way out. The type of people who like brutal honesty and like the style of writing I prefer…to the point with no BS.
The potential title of my new website has the word fck in it (not going to tell you the actual domain name) let’s say it’s called f*ckwork.com.
I have a backup domain, let’s call it leavework.com.
My question to you is… Do I stick to my principles, take the risk and be my authentic self or do I hide behind a facade and be a bit more careful and reserved?
The floor and answers are yours
Thank you all in advance
Tony

I agree with Dave that there's probably only one way to find out.
If you are really interested, you could try an experiment for a year - depending on how many websites you already have here and how many you can have. You could get both and post the same kind of blogs at the same time - one without mincing your words and the other, on the 'careful and reserved' site, the same info but toned down and 'respectable'. They might even both become successful attracting different kinds of men.
That’s a great idea! I would have to relinquish another website but it might well be worth it 🤔
I think if that's your authentic voice, then give it a go! It will likely resonate with a whole bunch of people who enjoy that. I also have a site that has a doozy in the web URL, which started as a joke between a friend (I won't post it here, but it's listed on my profile if you're interested). I personally find it a big laugh, and when I share it in particular groups, others seem to as well. I haven't added any material to that site in many months, sadly, and I haven't been posting on social media, so I cannot claim that the site has been a success. You've reminded me that I need to get back into it. I was thinking about trying to reinvigorate it with some related Printify products after seeing a post here about Printify.
I can tell you that Pinterest absolutely hates my account, and I don't post anything there anymore. It may not be as offended by yours. I reckon if you find your audience, you might be on to something!
I'm so keen to hear where you end up on this!
Cheers
Melissa
I have just had a look at your site and I absolute love it!! My favourite swear word as well.
I think I’ll take the gamble 🎰 and say f*ck it!
I think there is one way to find out, Tony. If it works out, great. I it doesn't, try something else.

There’s room online for straight-shooters. The key isn’t the word—it’s whether the message lands. Try it.
