Then comes the problem of building a large enough list to get you results, and to get people to respond to your emails. I believe the personalized communication is quite important.

This is a really challenging question. With the amount of email scams afloat, I think that real trust must be built by anyone with that persons email list. People just don't open "cold" emails.
