Affiliate Marketing is High School
How to Approach Affiliate Marketing with the Right Mindset
I've been binge-listening to some podcasts whilst driving during work for the last week or so, and one thing that stuck out was a thing Matt Giovanisci said on his Money Lab podcast.
Don't ask me which one because, as I've said, I binged alot of episodes of this and Listen Money Matters.
What was said was along the lines of this and it stuck in my head:
Affiliate Marketing is High School. Those We See Making Money Have Graduated, the Rest of Us are Still Studying...Before now I imagined this side gig as a seed to grow into a business, we put the hard work in and it grows and we reap the benefits later. But this high school analogy really helped hone in on why I struggle to build my niche despite all the training, advice and help here on Wealthy Affiliate.
It's all here on Wealthy Affiliate, the nuts and bolts to start an online business and make an income through affiliate marketing and other avenues.
So why do I and I'm sure others struggle and some of you awesome people fly with it?
Because High School
Some of us are straight A students and start a project, then see it through to a money making machine.
A lot of us drop out.
A lot of us have shiny object syndrome and move on to the next one before giving our current thing a chance.
With this throw away comment I had a change of perspective and I'm more determined now than ever to keep at this and encourage others to keep at it, or for those who haven't started yet, give it a go!
I want to graduate and in (hopefully fewer than) 4 years have the skill set and experience to smash my goals and help others smash their own goals from now until then.
Keep studying, make those mistakes and try again!
I don't know if this will help anyone else in my position but if it does, I'll be glad to have helped.
Good luck to those still studying and those already successful, and everybody keep at it!

Great way to phrase the affiliate marketing field. I like the analogy too
