Almost done with the second month of SAC

The magic part of keywords

It has been a busy month, although full of exciting accomplishments as well as improvements in the way I’m building my website.

The first significant change in my methodology was about using the alphabet soup technique in a better way than before, which bring me about 800 relevant words to start a Jaaxy search for the long tail, long competition keywords +100 monthly search volume and -100 QSR.

The writing relief

Then applying Kyle’s technique for writing articles in a row was breathtaking, because before

of that I could have spent the whole month writing maybe one or maybe two articles per week, however building a bunch of articles by phases shorten the time at least by three or four times. I don’t get the fastest speed I’d like to have, but at least I could manage to produce twelve articles in around two weeks, which is a milestone to me.

What surprises me the most in writing those articles with the newly adopted technique was that the set goals for each one of them were of 1000 words, however, after having established the headlines for each section and leaving my mind to express itself freely, the writing process flowed. And I ended up with articles longer than 1000 words, usually above 1500 and some of them close to 2000.

My previous mental process would have been writing to accomplish the goal of the number of words and struggle to reach that goal in consequence. However, now the process was completely different because my focus was not the number of words but the idea to build a valued message, and as I said, the result was terrific and overcame my expectations.

Sweet images

Maybe you can agree with me that adding imagery is a delightful task after writing because it gives the final shape to our post. However, it isn’t that easy when it comes to finding the right graph or table for quantitative data, for example. That will require an extra effort for our part to be creative on the forthcoming posts.

I particularly liked the step of creating banners on Canva, especially to insert as featured images because at least in the theme I choose, brief excerpts appear in the blogroll list, so it’s very gratifying to see how each and every one of those “nudes” excerpts, slowly became populated with beautiful images. I think the visual effect for a visitor is potent because it changes the impression from a dull and straightforward homepage into one that has many enticing banners to look at.

Oh, those comments!

Next, the comments part, I think, is bittersweet. It has the sweet side of seeing how your

brand new post gets some new comments very soon. They get more content, the chance to insert some valuable links to your other posts or to an affiliate offer, the effect that comments have on the performance of your site (to see how this red or yellow bar changes to blue or green is great!) and obviously the – not so evident but powerful – effects on SEO.

Now the thing is that answering is like writing a mini-post, isn’t it? We all know now that replying to a comment is not just saying “Heya, thanks for your comment. Regards” and that’s it. Maybe we could have done that in the past, but at present is clear that through comments, we are also adding not just content but value and authority. So it’s essential to do it well… but it takes time, and what at first seemed too much of it – 43 days – at the end was more like a race against the clock. But it’s ok, I should perfect it as well.

This website that I am working on was my first attempt to thrive in online business by promoting Wealthy Affiliate the first time that I came to this platform some years ago. But I didn’t do well at that time that is the reason why I’m trying again. However, I had old posts in it, and now I got surprised to realize how much of spam had received as comments. What otherwise seemed “so naïve and natural “share” of well-intentioned people, this training makes it so evident that really was a malicious attempt to promote themselves or the action of bots or both. I couldn’t make it in this either without the proper technique.

Now what?

Finally, I am finishing almost all the tasks to improve and boost my website, but I’ve disregarded a little bit my activity within the WA platform which is too very important to me, but I feel that things will gradually fall into place as I gain more expertise and better time management.

By now what remains it’s to be prepared for the next lesson starting soon!

Thank you, Tommy! Your post is very instructive for me, as I learn to create my contente and have also to write my articled. As you said, when you settle down for writing you often have plenty of ideas to create valuable content.
I've also been absent for a while from WA, but now I can see the value of this community and I'm here to stay:)

Good luck and success in your project!

Oana.

Congratulations. Your achievement so far awesome.
