Ranking System within Wealthy Affiliate

I'm new in the Wealthy Affiliate community and one of the first things I noticed was the existence of a ranking system among the members here; complete with various badges of achievement. I took some time to do some reading on the subject of ranking within Wealthy Affiliate.

I have always enjoyed helping other people whether I'm ranked for it or not, but I believe there is something I am not understanding.

Is the ranking system used here for anything else other than having your name put on a list? I understand being assigned a rank in any social hierarchy is great for personal morale. It feels good to be recognized for doing good deeds and the word "Ambassador" certainly has a positive vibe to it, but there appears to be a very deep focus on achieving rank. That's the part I do not understand and I suspect there might be another reason behind the ranking system which I'm failing to recognize.

Please don't misinterpret the nuance of the message I'm trying to convey here. This is not an attempt to rebel against the powers that be.

I'm just curious if there are any other incentives besides the good feelings we acquire from acts of altruism and receiving a badge of achievement.

Type in "Boosting Your WA Ranks" :) It's in the last lesson of level two in the certificate training. I'm not quite there yet. Good Stuff

Thanks Jennifer,
I'll definitely check it out when I get there. I'm probably just jumping the gun.
Thanks again,
Tommy

I do that a lot, probly all the time ("jumpin the gun")!

I just get so excited !

Yw :)

This is very interesting, I have wondered the same thing. I figured I would learn this through time since I'm a newbie, or come up on it within the trainings. Have you tried searching in the search bar at the top? I haven't yet, just thought of it. Gonna try it.

At the moment, I just enjoy helping people and communicating with the community.
But my rank is not too high.

Thanks Nadja! I think we're on the same page. Helping people is both fun and rewarding.

Still, I'm wondering if there is another reason behind the institution of a ranking system. A lot of work seems to have been invested in establishing a hierarchy and many members seem to be motivated by its existence. Perhaps the motivation it instills is the reason it exists.

Thanks again,
Tommy

I hope others can tell you more. When I am offering comments or feedback through the SiteRubix platform, I can earn some credits and use them to receive comments and feedback for my site.
I believe you can earn some credits by creating training material.
