Hi Tommy

And additional to "tommo1968"s awesome advise, your keyword just need to grammatical sense, of course. ;-)

Hubby thought he found an amazing keyword, but it didn't make grammatical sense.

Hope it helps!

Looks like a good KW, the fact it says great in the line up tells you something.

The only thing left to do is type the KW into google with quotes " " around it and see who is the top ten websites.

If they are all e-commerce sites like amazon or websites with good index and serps then leave alone you can save it and come back in a few months and try again after your website has some traffic and has moved out of the sandbox. usually the first 6 months.

If the sites in the top ten are blogs that you feel you could do better with then by all means write the post just do it better than them.

PS you can test a websites strength by getting a FREE account in Semrush and doing a domain search.

Mark,
Thanks for the advice! Good thinking. I took your advice and did a Google search with quotes and the first 7 search results were all the big kids on the block; Amazon and his buddies. The remaining results seemed to be small fish, so I think I might give this a shot.

Also, thanks for the news about SEMrush. I'll definitely utilize that.
Most of all, thanks for taking the time to give me valuable advice. I've added your message to my file of "Useful Tips".

I'm still brand new here, but if there is anything I can do to help you, please let me know.

Cheers!
Tommy

Your most welcome Tommy, I was new here once too and it was help from the others that got me moving.

Onwards and upwards!

Thanks bro, and I'm sorry I got your name wrong, Mark.

No worries you know you can go back and edit a comment if you make a mistake to clean it up. :-)

Really? How? I tried, but this platform is giving me the finger.

Is this the way to correct errors? It won't overwrite previous posts, but it's better than nothing... "your" and not "you".

How is SEO affected by siterubix sites? Do those sites receive less traffic than private .com domains?

Your own domain is really the answer, Tommy. I don't think that we know exactly how the crawlers work, but as Chris said, you won't find many subdomains ranking high. Blogger works the same as SiteRubix and it is a Google company and you don't even find those blogs in the high ranks. Your own domain is really the way forward.

Henniest,
Thanks for the feedback. It really helps. I'm brand new here and I hope the decisions I'm making are the right ones. If there is anything I can do to return the favor, please let me know.
Cheers!

You are welcome, Tommy. We are here for each other.

Having your own domain is a big help. You can certainly rank with a siterubix domain, but having your own domain name gives you much more credibility and helps your SEO in several different ways.

Mike,
Thank you so much for confirming what I had suspected. I am now one step closer to building my future.
Cheers!
Tommy

SEO woudl rather you have a private .com domain. Siterubix sites CAN rank and make you money, but just google a few phrases and see how many of them have subdomains.

It's not many...

A domain is $13 or 14. Barely $1 a month...

Totally worth the investment.

BenjisDad,
Thanks for the information. It really helps. I hope I can achieve what you already have.
Cheers!
