Too Ambitious?

Hi everyone!

I just wanted to talk about ambition and affiliate marketing.

The fact that we have all started affiliate marketing means that we all have some kind of ambition. You may want to earn a bit of cash on the side or start a business to change your whole lifestyle. We all have our own reasons.

Personally, I started affiliate marketing for a flexible lifestyle. With this in mind, my first website's niche is mountain biking. I saw lots of potential with it. Bikes, tyres, components, destinations, tips, tools, protection etc gives me lots to write about. I have come a long way and created lots of content and not about to give up, even though it is only making pennies at the moment after a year. In hindsight, I possibly should have stuck with one aspect of mountain biking, such as tyres or helmets. This would be a more focussed niche with a bit more success. What do you think?

My second website, uses the food and drink niche. Again, possibly too large a niche, but lots to write about. Appliances, recipes, gadgets etc. With this I am using the WA training, but with a couple of extra approaches. This website isn't as old, but struggling to make even one sale. I am thinking about reigning in the ambition and revamping this site, but making it a more traditional affiliate site without my extra methods.

Affiliate marketing takes a long time. My niche choices are potentially making the process even longer. But, my ambition took over causing me to think big. Has anyone else done the same thing as me, but managed to make a success of a website with a broad niche?

Also, if anyone wants to take a look at my sites and give me brutal feedback, it would be most appreciated.
