The Stages of Starting a Business or two
Surely, some of you can relate to this. I have started a business in 2016 already, but being a creative entrepreneur makes me realize how desperately I need either a mentor or a project manager! *Entering Asana and Trello*
I have come to a conclusion that there are phases between all of the productivity and entrepreneurial madness!
1. Ideas
Yes, the first step. The seed of a great idea was planted into your brilliant mind and now you have to put it in the spotlight! Somehow though, this idea has spawned into even more ideas and suddenly you find yourself with writing a to-do list at 2am just to make sure you don't forget anything...
2. Plan of Action
It all comes back to that one idea which started it all. (you realized through all of the sleep deprivation and your fourth cup of coffee, that you really need to focus on one thing). So, back to the figurative drawing board. How are you going to carry this idea out into something profitable? A website, perhaps...
3. Diversion
There you are, busy like a bee, creating your golden website for your million dollar idea. Suddenly, between writing blog posts and creating pages, you realize that you need some stock images to make it look all attractive and everything...
4. The Obligations Monster
It's sitting right behind you! Staring at you from behind, breathing down your neck. And yet, you still feel the need to download yet another beautiful stock image of mountians, which you are probably not going to use. In my case though, after downloading my 20th stock image because it might make a nice wallpaper on my desktop, I suddenly get the thought: "Hey, let's see what's happening on Pinterest..."
5. Plan of Action, Again
By 3am you realize how much time you have wasted, feeling guilty, but only for a moment. You feel buzzed and probably too tired - time for another cup of coffee! Back to the website... Luckily, you now have many stock images to choose from, even though your website is going to be more text based...
So you work for another hour, maybe two, and decide that it's time to hit the sack. In about a few hours or so, it will start allll over again...
Or is it just me?

I think we all suffer from distraction here and there. Some are better at managing it than others. If you happen to get distracted easily then try one of the following:
-Only give yourself an hour to write a whole blog post
-Write in no distractions mode on Wordpress or just write in an offline program like Word and copy/paste into wordpress when done
-Come up with clear goals for the day on a note pad and be sure to make them attainable, then work toward the goals for that day
-Add all your artwork at the end :).
I certainly have my days or productivity and days of procrastination, but these tips have helped me.
Great advice! Thanks!
I usually type it out in Word and copy/paste it afterwards.. But yes, I get distracted easily..
Maybe my weakness lies in the fact that I set too many goals for myself each day. I should probably revise everything.
