Biting the Bullet! Going Premium on WA and Jaaxy.
About a year back I joined WA under another user name. I tried my best to put in the time then; and I don't know if it's that I lost steam and set it aside, or my health problems were rearing their ugly head... but either way I found myself not following through. Not even getting through the first level of the free training.
Since then I've tried my hand in a few websites, and didn't know quite where to start... and this brings us to current. I've always had a knack for direct sales. Whether that be in retail, working for someone else, or for an actual direct sales company. I knew I wanted to get back into it and really decide what I could make of it, and change my life.
I've always been very passionate about skin care, beauty, and makeup. (For goodness sake I originally went to college for fashion design. This will tie in later, because at the end of that journey I was really interested in fashion journalism). Always reading up on current trends, finding brands that I love, and people always ask me about their skin care needs as they look at my skin and would like the same results. I often have people as me for my identification; because if I ever let it slip in conversation my age they NEVER believe me!.
So, getting back to the story! In getting back into a direct sales capacity there are two companies I've always felt comfortable with, both offering leading skin, cosmetics, and body care lines. On a Sunday two weeks ago I bit the bullet and paid the $100 fee to get my starter kit in both. Thinking I'd eventually make up my mind and put one to the wayside. One company I'd never even thought about, in the past has some bad opinions based off of hearsay. But my friend sent me some of their skin care products and I am in love. The other was tried and true for me.
Well, two weeks in and the one direct sales company I would have made some money in, but everything people bought covered what I bought for myself from their home line. Laughable I know, but one needs some retail therapy every now and then. The other; which I thought all I'd heard to be too good to be true, and that I'd make an example of them and prove the clams wrong. Well, I was pleasantly surprised. Withing two days I'd made my $100 investment back, and within a week I'd made $400 more in profit. This could really be a new career for me.
So, alas! Yes, alas, it happens people. I remembered good ole' Wealthy Affiliate. Had I given it a fair chance? What if I could learn to blog and leverage the power of the internet to not only draw up conversation, clients and sales, but as well use it as a powerful too for recruiting... reaching people in places I've never even been?
So I came back, and I signed up for the free version. Never even having the intention of going premium before I finished the first free 10 lessons, and having my site up (the shell is up, it's going to take quite a bit more work, but I am ready for it). I also wanted to complete the boot-camp. What happened?
Well, you know the messages you get, you're just three days from your offer of one month premium for $19 to go away Tony, then two days, then 1, then 15 hours. Well, I decided that I wanted the support. I am 8 of the 10 lessons done with the main training, whereas in the past I only got to lesson 3. I'd learned about keywords and jaaxy. I even signed up for an adwords account believing I could work around Jaaxy. Folks, seeing is believing, Jaaxy is everything and so much more! I however did not have the $40 for the two upgrades.
So I got up this morning, posted an expensive food dehydrator on offer-up. Mind you something I bought for way too much money and used a whole one time. Thus freeing up precious counter space in my tiny apartment, and giving me $60 allowing me upgrade both my WA and Jaaxy accounts.
I am very happy I made the move. I really feel in my gut that it's going to pay off, and lead me and my independent beauty consultant business to places I couldn't have previously imagined and just dreamed.

Oh, and I forgot. How this ties into fashion journalism. It may not be fashion journalism exactly, but... it does relate. Beauty relates to fashion in a big way, and blogging is not much different than journalism. The training is the same.
