A commercial for a website regarding unclaimed cash in the State of Indiana makes the observation that finding money is always exciting--even if it was already yours. It's true, you know. If you've ever decided to wear clothing with pockets that you haven't worn for awhile, and discovered that you forgot to remove the money in one (or more) of those pockets, you know that it's true. And if you haven't, just imagine what it would feel like if you did...you'll discover the power of imagination!

Our other than conscious mind is created in such a way that it has difficulty determining the difference in what is experienced and what is imagined. How exciting is that?! In other words, just by imagining what it will feel like to experience success (however you want to denominate success) and doing so consistently, you are infinitely more likely to experience that success in actuality. As the old saying goes, "If you reach for the stars, you're highly unlikely to come up with a handful of mud!".

But money is not the only exciting thing to discover unexpectedly. Our community here at WA is an exciting discovery for me, and from what I read in your blogs, posts, and websites, I'm far from alone in this feeling of excitement about WA.

I once heard a fellow clergymen tell the story of a very financially successful man who lost his dearly loved only son in a war. Some time later, a young man carrying a package called on him to present the package to him.

When the father opened the package, he discovered it was a painting of his dear, departed son. Being a collector of fine and expensive works of art, the man offered to pay the visitor for the painting of his son, as its intrinsic value to him exceeded the value of any of his other paintings by far.

The young visitor declined his offer, insisting that, since the man's son had saved his life, along with several others, painting the picture and giving it to him was the least he could do. He added that he could never repay the debt he owed as a result of his life having been spared by the unselfish self-sacrifice of the man's son.

The father proudly hung the painting of his son above his mantle, where he could see it often. Years later, after he died, his estate, including all the highly valuable works of art were made available for purchase at an auction. Knowing how valuable they were, many came from near and far to bid on one or more of those beautiful pieces of art.

As the auctioneer stepped up to the podium and banged his gavel to start the auction, the first piece to be sold was the picture of the rich man's son. Try as he may, he was unable to get a bid. In fact, people became restless and a bit upset, insisting they hadn't come to the auction to buy an unknown portrait by an unknown artist, but rather to bid on the valuable art collection he had owned.

After some minutes passed, realizing that no one was bidding on the portrait, the groundskeeper for the estate raised his hand to bid.. "I only have ten dollars, but I'd like to start the bidding on that picture.", he said. The auctioneer again attempted, to no avail, to get more bids on the painting. Realizing that no one else was going to bid, and sensing the crowd was becoming increasingly angry, the auctioneer banged his gavel, and announced that the picture of the man's son was sold to the groundskeeper..

As the crowd settled and prepared for the "real" auction to begin, the auctioneer announced that the auction was concluded. When people in the crowd recovered from their shock enough to ask for an explanation, the auctioneer made the following announcement:

"In his last will and testament, the owner of the estate gave specific instructions that the portrait of his son was to be sold first, and the person who bought it was to be given full ownership of his entire estate."

I believe the same applies to my membership at Wealthy Affiliate. By taking a free "test drive", then upgrading to Premium, engaging in the training and building relationships in the community, I've been given the proverbial keys to the kingdom!

And even though I'm still less than a month into this journey, I can already imagine not only the joy of creating an online business that is profitable, but also, the feeling of accomplishment in doing so. In fact, that feeling of accomplishment is already present to some extent, and keeps growing with amazing regularity.

I hope you feel the same way.

Thank you so very much for reading my blog, and liking and commenting on it if you'd like.

Warmly,

Terry

Thanks Bret. I appreciate your reading my blog and commenting. Best wishes in your endeavors.
