Taking Stock

I’ve been a member of WA for a full week now. When I first joined, it was at the urgings of my partner to check it out and see if it might be something that could give me some focus for my writing. And boy, has it!

The program has opened up a whole new realm of possibility for me. Unlike many members here, I wasn’t drawn in by the world of Internet Marketing. If you had asked me seven days ago what I thought Internet Marketing was, I wouldn’t have had an answer.

Since then, I have experienced my first Live Chat, taken my first on-line course, made my first on-line friends, and built my first website. And that was just the first day of my free Starter Membership! The most important thing that’s happened this past week is that I’ve changed my perspective of my writings, hobbies, interests and passions.

Pre-WA, I considered these things frivolous - things I could do when I found time, when the bills were paid, when the rat-race was run. Now, I’ve learned see that the things I love to spend my time on - the things I am passionate about - also offer the tantalizing prospect of something I can earn my living from.

I’ve begun to realize that being passionate about something puts me in a unique position - I end up being something of an authority in that subject. I spend copious amounts of time engaged in the activity, reading about it, talking to people about it, thinking about it, imaging ways to make it better/easier/more exciting. And I end up having quite a lot to say about it! And the best thing is, that other people are interested in what I have to say because I’m informed and enthusiastic.

Enter Internet Marketing. What WA has shown me is that I can channel all this energy for my passion and turn it into a Niche. All I have to do is organize my activities and turn them into “content”. My enthusiasm for my subject, my knowledge and experience, my research - all of this contributes to the quality of my content. And from what I understand, Quality Content leads to Traffic leads to Affiliate Revenue.

That doesn’t mean it’s going to be easy or quick to earn a living. It takes time to do research, write articles, edit video, and layout a website (**that’s an inside joke for those of you who have been holding my hand through my website pains lol). But because I am dealing with a subject I love, it isn’t work. I feel like I’m getting away with something!

This to me was worth the price of admission. Today I upgraded my membership to Premium, and I consider it the best investment I’ve made in myself in a very long time.
