My First Niche

Even though I’ve only been here a few days, I sense a lot of anxiety around choosing a niche for a first website. I wanted to share how I made my decision.

I picked something I want to spend a lot of time with.

As I learn how to build a website, I have been writing content, looking for images for content, manipulating content in page layouts, and researching content to make sure I have quality content. I chose a subject that I am very familiar with - a subject that I enjoy talking about, teaching others about, and sharing with other enthusiasts.

If your niche is something that naturally keeps you engaged and interested, you will be much more likely to successfully make your way through learning the nuts and bolts of Internet Marketing.

Good luck to everyone!

You are right about choosing a niche where you are wanting to spend a lot of time with it, because this is exactly what you will do. I agree also that if you like talking about it and genuinely believe what you are saying and writing, it is so much easier to keep going with a niche.

Yes, and while learning something new it's just so much easier to stay on track if my niche is something I am comfortable with. Not adding to the learning curve (which in my case can be described in orbital terms lol)

I agree and I am interested in a lot of things. So, at first my first niche is still one of my favorites. I have 4 niches now and that is probably not the end of it. I just love different things. But, you are really on cue in what you are doing with yours.

Best Wishes to You!

Thanks Sherion, and to you too!

Yup. I think a lot of people will naturally want to go for something that will make them the most money. But it's easier to sell something that you actually believe in. Great post!

Definitely :0) Thanks Ashley

Very good advice! We keep hearing that a niche you're interested in will be easier to promote and write about than something you'll have to research and that is so true.

Sounds like you're well on your way to becoming a success, hope you get there soon =)

Thanks Mary. I hope the same for you!
