We'll, well... my 6 month badge arrived just now.
Seems like I've been at this a lot longer actually! I guess when you put SO much time and effort into something it feels like It's been a part of you forever!
I've seen a little monetization thus far, but not enough to get my first check from Amazon. Here at the 6 month mark I've got almost 60 articles published, most of them being 2,000 words or more. Quite a few are substantially more, even above 4,000. Those are the articles designed for heavy monetization.

Traffic is, as I've seen from the beginning, sloooowly picking up. Only at about 400 visitors a month at this point.
My biggest traffic successes have come from using Bing ads and Google AdWords. Both got me a lot of traffic TO my site. Once there though, very few actually purchase, despite the crucial, relevant and well-distributed calls to action.
Since I'm writing to musicians I'm guessing it's either because most don't buy music gear from Amazon or they immediately go look for a cheaper price. Or both. Probably both.
So, I've succeeded in creating a well-done, relevant and interesting site. Now... here's hoping it finally shows some signs of financially succeeding.
