Just a Few. Beautiful. Drops.

Greetings, friends. How are ya? I do hope all is well and that you're life is filled with growth, learning and love. I know mine is, and I'm ever thankful.

Had to write because, yesterday, I saw at last what I've been working for for many months (16 to be exact) - sales on Amazon.

Are they big? Nope. Does it equal my worth, and the time and toil I've put into my site up to now?? Not even close. But they DO represent progress, and, though I'm a realist, I am nonetheless an OPTIMISTIC realist. So this has to be shared as a sign of how we all can win at this.

The green arcs in the picture above are what you see when Amazon pays out transactions to you. It's what you want to see, believe me.

I have managed in the past to eke out a couple sales by implementing the free "Google Ads" money that Google offers when you first sign up. It gives you those huge boosts of "fake traffic".

I call it fake 'cuz those numbers only occur when you artificially draw them through ad campaigns. It's not a true sign of how many people dig your site.

So up 'til now, if I didn't put out a huge ad, I got nothing.

What's odd is... I HAVE had a LOT of people click my links and go to Amazon. A LOT.

But nobody would buy.

It's like fishing for days, months... with the bobber dipping all the time, but landing no fish.

But now, I can't say that. Three people have bought through my links this week with no other impetus than what's in my articles.

About @#$# time. LOL

But consider, it took me 123 posts, all over 1500 words, and many above 2500, and many with videos, to have this finally happen.

Let that sink in for a bit.

123 posts. Researching them. Recording videos. Recording audio. Finding or creating just the right pictures.

NO money.

'Til now.

Do you have that kind of patience?? Can you keep going through that, knowing this biz is NOT gonna get you "rich quick"?? That you'll have to work really hard and hear many say what you're doing is a waste of time and resources??

If you can say yes, then you'll probably succeed. A lot of this is just a numbers game, and you have to have a "farmer's commitment" to this Internet "soil" if you're going to mine anything memorable and lucrative. It takes perseverance with no remuneration.

Then, one day... a drop. Like a miracle at a dead well; a breakthrough from an abandoned, rusty faucet. A day... that drips promise.

Then another drop.

And another.

Soon enough, the thirsty will gather, and after so long, they will find desire quenched.

Those that haven't made it yet, keep going, right with me.

Those that have this working awesomely and are making a killing, please continue to share with us your insights, methods, warnings and "secrets". For every human, we "don't know what we don't know", and your help is vital to us finding that cool, cool water.

Thanks.

On other fronts, my stats continue to rise, both on my website, and on social media. Instagram especially is really gaining steam and followers, tho' I haven't reached 1,000 yet. I personally have used Gramblr for over 8 months and it's been excellent at building my traffic with people who are appropriate to my niche.

That's all for now.

Hope when my 2 years is up in October I'll be able to tell you I bought a yacht. LOL

This is so poetic. I love the farmer's commitment concept and the internet soil. Yes, it is so exciting to see those drops! I guess I was lucky. I started making sales very early on when my site was just a few months old. I am very pleased that I finally made a profit in 2018. I have been here 3 years so it took a while. I am on the slow track and not speeding off to 4 digit profits each month like some. I have a few WA premium referrals and I make more off of those most months than I do my niche sites. The only big chunks I have made in 3 years are a few WA Black Friday annual sales.

I have seen the very successful members here advise that we may need to reconsider our niches if we struggle for too long. There just may not be enough demand. They say they had unsuccessful sites before they struck on what worked.

For some members here it may not be that they are doing something wrong, it may just be that there isn't enough demand in a certain niche to be really profitable. So I guess you have to decide it it is enough of a passion project that you want to keep at it, or if you really need/want to make more money and should consider switching to a different niche. The good news is that the second site goes way faster than the first and if there is more demand in that niche you could start to see profits way sooner.

I don't mean to be negative at all, just passing on the wisdom I have been reading from those that make a lot more than I do.

Good for you for sticking it out until those drops appear!!

Jessica

Great post TJ! Now that's perseverance! Congratulations on your sales and your stats!

With your perseverance and upbeat spirit, I see no problem with you buying a yacht soon.

Wishing you success! Thanks for keeping it real.

Congratulations and well written.

This is one of the best paragraphs I've read recently in posts:

" A lot of this is just a numbers game, and you have to have a "farmer's commitment" to this Internet "soil" if you're going to mine anything memorable and lucrative. It takes perseverance with no remuneration"

How true this is, I hope those drops in the well turn to a waterfall really soon.

Keep on pushing forward!

Cal
