Losing Time From Missing Cord

Moving Again

It seems the past year went by so quickly. I moved a year ago and did not think I would be moving again already. This move however is a good one for me. Have you heard of going full circle? Well I just did that.

I found myself needing to find a place to rent and although I wanted to stay in the location I was in fate would dictate something else. Funny how that works out sometimes. I was fortunate enough to be able to be presented with a place in my price range that I could afford on my own. It wasn't in the smaller town that I wanted to live in but rather in the town I grew up in much larger.

I resisted the move for a couple of months thinking maybe something would turn up where I wanted to be but nothing did. It's interesting how things turn out for you when someone unseen is really behind the wheel of your life. I am back with in a few mile radius of my 2 childhood homes, church school and church I grew up in. Now that I am here I realize I am where I am supposed to be at this time.

The Missing Cord

I marked boxes to be organized. I had my computer bag set aside so I knew where it was. I was looking for last minute things and I saw my computer cord that was still plugged into the wall and I put it in a paper bag with other items next to other paper bags filled with things I was going to put in the car. I hired help for my move and they were moving things out to the truck. It was overwhelming with everything going on.

We got to my new place and unloaded everything. I unpacked all my belongings including the paper bags. After waking up the next morning I decided to get on my computer and work on my website. Much to my surprise I could not find my adapter cord. I searched everywhere for it. I even looked in my computer bag knowing I didn't put it in there. It was anywhere to be found. I called my old roommate and it was not left behind. I am not sure what happened to it, but it is a mystery still.

Ordering a New Cord-It's Where?

I looked online for a new cord for my laptop. For some reason it was a hard one to locate. I have a Toshiba only four years old and I really like it. I can't even find an adapter to fit it to attach to a universal plug. It has been a royal pain.

My friend located one and ordered it through a place and paid extra so it would arrive quickly so I could get back online. As luck would have it, it didn't arrive quickly. When checking on it, UPS lost it. Another place in NY had a cord and I ordered it Priority mail to get one here by this week. It should have arrived yesterday. It did not. Good news is the one that was ordered about three weeks ago that ended up in Guam showed up yesterday! That is why I was able to be on my computer today writing this blog. lol

I should have put my cord in my computer bag when I unplugged it from the wall instead of putting it into that paper bag. The bag made it here and I unpacked it. I know what bag it was. It will remain a mystery for sure. At least I have a cord now. I feel like I have wasted almost 4 weeks time waiting for a cord to arrive.

Glad you finally got one!

Jeff

Thank you. I was beginning to wonder. 😊

I'M GLAD! DID you ever end up finding the other cord?

No I didn't. I'm thinking that my roommate who had a stroke 6 months ago may have taken it out of the bag thinking it belonged to something he owned and when I asked about it he couldn't recall. He has a memory issue since his stroke. I know Which bag it was in. When I went drove back to collect the rest of my things he had packed up some boxes already. 🙄

Sounds like the likeliest place--no matter now since you have a new one, of course, I thought it might've been nice to have an extra! I know any time I replace something because U can't find it, shortly thereafter, I find what I lost!😳

I trust you have had a good week!

Jeff

Yes I did have a good week thanks and I hope you did as well.

I did, indeed! It was a pleasure chatting with you! Enjoy your new week!

Jeff

A new week is always good. enjoy yours too.

It is, Terri--or sometimes bad, depending on our mindset at the beginning! I choose to make this a good one!

This is the price you pay for disorganized. What a long story for ordering a new power cord.

I'm an organized person most always. Moving can be quite stressful. Sometimes it is better to not comment if you are going to be rude. Have a nice day.
