How to Put Up Menu Headings Without Adding a Page
I sometimes like menu headings to be just that, a heading. Then I can place pages and posts under the headings. Well, after many seconds of research, I learned how easy it is to do that:
Go to your WP menu function.
Choose Custom Link
For the title of the link, place #
Add a Subtitle with the name of the heading.
Add it to the menu.
Click on the edit function and remove the # symbol. Click Cancel, not remove.
Now add whatever pages and post you want under that heading.
So There!

And if you don't see the option "Custom Link", go to Screen Options (Right upper corner) and check the appropriate box.

Hey Old Friend...good to hear from you. I've been away (physically) after heart attack and then quadruple bypass surgery.
John
Sorry to hear that but glad you are still kicking. I've had by-pass twice and on my third aortic valve, the best one being the first, the one God gave me. I've had two heart attacks since the last valve replacement but fairly mild, the last one I did not have to go to the hospital. When they put in the last valve, the placement was such that it left a critical vessel on the wrong side of the valve which means when the left ventricle collapses, the vessel is does not supply the blood to my left ventricle. They can't operate to by-pass it and trying to go through my aortic valve to place a stint could damage the valve which is the last one I can have. But--I'm still kicking! lol John
This is great information...In the same vein, a related question I am mulling now is how to add category links to my shop menu...This sounds kind of similar...
Most e-commerce shops have a drop down menu that take the customer to the category page, as of now it is 2 steps for our e-commerce sites (step 1 - click on shop, step 2 click on category of products)...
I am doing research on this at the moment, but in all your wisdom, perhaps you can save me some time for this one? Would be very appreciative of so!
Cheers!

Google "what can you do with categories in WP?" and let me know if you got your answer. John
I typed in that and a bit more to get the answer...
https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/docs-menus/
We are using Woo Commerce and WP themes designed for that framework...
The above link shows how we can get categories added to the shop menu tab ...
Thanks!

I'm glad I wrote the post. It was too short for a video but I thought it might be helpful to some. Great!
