Do You Have Googleitis? Google Should Not Be Your God!

We are taught here that Google Rankings are God. Well, they are important. But we can get distracted by focusing only on that. It is much better, in my worthless opinion, to focus on presenting solutions to problems which will attract readers to your website because they get the straight poop there.

Writing an article, for example, and seeing it rank high at Google can make us feel great. But if the ranking drops as Google moves its focus as your competition come in to knock you around a bit, that is not a disaster.

You have to keep presenting solutions to problems. It takes time to read emails, check rankings, hang out on Chat and all that. It can be time wasted because it takes you away from your audience. You are like a comedian on the stage whose mind goes blank. How long do you think his or her audience will sit there waiting for the next one liner?

About two minutes.

If you stay focused on your audience, the folks in your niche, they will be watching for your next solution to a problem they are dealing with. When that happens, you will be successful.

Now, don't get discouraged. Two of our members blogged faithfully for a year with few sales. But they hung in there and suddenly things began to happen. The site became successful and they didn't have to blog quite so often. The traffic was there.

You need to rank on the search engines but if you are so focused on that so you are not tending to business, what have you gained?

Don't let anything distract from your primary purpose which is to present solutions to problems to your readers frequently.
