The Craft of Writing Effectively
Good Day
I just finished watching a video on YouTube that was by that title.
The video is a recording of one Larry McEnerney in lecture, live, with a small audience.
Mr. MCEnerney was at the time, director of the Writing Dept at the University of Chicago. Among other things he taught other professionals and authorities in their own fields on successful writing.
The full title of the video, should you try to find it is:
LEADERSHIP LAB: The Craft of writing Effectively, UChicago Social Sciences, 26th June 2014
My suggestion is you take the time, 1:21:51 (1 hour, 21 mins).
There are many valuable things in here for those of us who are struggling to write solid content. And keep in mind that this guy teaches experienced writers. He teaches PHD candidates how to write to be published. He visits universities around the globe and teaches other professors.
The video is not about rules. He states that from the very beginning. Some of you who have been paying close attention to you r lessons, those lessons on content, may have already caught on to some things Prof. McEnerney talks about. And some of you who have been writing content for a while may have subconsciously begun to use certain techniques.
But, I guarantee you this; no matter what level you are at or think you are at, you will gain some new knowledge and some great insight. Hopefully too, you will be able to apply to your own writing.
If you aren't too convinced of the value of this video based upon my word, I suggest at least watching perhaps the first ten or fifteen minutes and see if it grabs your interest or not. If not, that is okay, my feelings will not be hurt.

Speaking of feelings, I point out that this is the U. of Chicago's social Science dept channel. It is filled with modern day ideology, such as reimagining the police, defunding police and so forth. You will notice that if you search for the video, bu don't let that put you off.
How this video on writing technique got sorted into the fray of social justice dogma is odd, but that is where you will find it.
The video is not dry, and Mr. McEnerney actually apologizes at the end for his dramatics. Though, he wasn't that dramatic in my opinion.
R.
( As always, the two names I tagged are because they come to mind, not because I think you in particular need this ;) )
