A Fire With No Fuel Will Go Out

We say:

that those who are passionate about recovery have “that fire burning and that their passion is not just for their own recovery; they also care deeply about all who suffer from this debilitating and often fatal disease.

This ability to feel inspired by a process that has saved so many lives can be a very positive development for us.

Those who do feel that flame burning inside need to remember this fact: fires burn only as long as there is a constant source of fuel.

Once the fuel runs out, the flame dies.

This holds equally true for the fire within us and our own self care.

Unless we find a way to keep throwing new logs on that fire, it will eventually die out, regardless of how strong it was burning at first.

This now becomes a critical part of our recovery, to find ways of keeping the flame burning strong. Our own self care depends on it.

We need to identify the people, the meetings and resources that inspire us.

Once we discover them, we keep going back.

The initial stirring of inspiration is a gift. It becomes our responsibility to do whatever it takes to keep the flame alive.

I Pray:

that you will always have a burning desire to work tirelessly for your personal recovery and to be of service to those who still suffer and to discover the experiences that will inspire you to keep your flame burning with a continual desire to change.

Thank you so much. Appreciate your inspiration!

You're welcome

Thank you.

Hi

You are most welcome!

A fuel that I need today. Prayer. Your content is inspiring;

Thank you for your kind words!

You have to be interested in keeping the flame alive, that leads us to be proactive, once we are interested we look for the resources, the people, the moments and the time so that the flame also remains strong.

Adonai

that is true Adonai. You do have to be interested in your own life. As addicts and alcoholics, we are either interested in getting busy living or getting busy dying. Unfortunately, there is no gray area for those that have admitted. There are a whole lot of people that don't know that they don't know. They would never even identify as someone who is struggling or has ever had a struggle with drugs or alcohol. So my message and motivation is for those who know the struggle is real and admit it, not for those who know the struggle is real and deny it. That would be someone elses audience, not mine. Thanks my friend.
