Well, rock my sox off...I didn't expect to write so much, I just got into a flow and kept tapping the keyboard...
...... I sure as heck forgive you for not reading this much! :)

As a kid music got me through the crazy times. As a teenager I played drums in a rock bands around the local night clubs and bars. Then, one day I was out of work and got a residency as a DJ for a couple of years. That was a long time but man I loved every second of it.

Some years later my children came into my life and I decided to get what I call, a straight job. I wanted them to have a stable upbringing and not end up "livin la vida loca" (Living the crazy life) as I did. My children are my blessing and the most wonderful things that have ever happened to me. They're grown up now, but, they're just as precious to me today as the day they were born. Oh, and now that I'm a proud GrandFather ... well, that takes me to a whole new level.

My daughter was the last to leave home, her brother had done so a couple of years earlier.

One year as I sat alone weekend after weekend while my daughter was out somewhere with her friends from high school, I began thinking, "What am I going to do? ... One day she'll leave home and I'll be on my own at this rate!"

Honestly, I had no idea about my future, no inkling what so ever. It was like I had hit a dead end. My children were my life and now that I could see my daughter moving into her own space I didn't no what I was going to do. I had no answers, nudda!

Phew! A year later I had re-created a new me. I signed up to do a radio announcing course. On completion of the course I set a goal with the station Director to one day be the station's drive time host. After three years of diligently working on different shows finally my big break came along, I had reached my goal as prime time presenter...Booyaaaa!

Loving the fact I was back in the music world I had another goal. I wanted to DJ again... I was 19 the last time I DJ'd. But now, who in their right mind is going to give a 40+ year old wanna be, a DJ gig? Are you crazy?!

W-e-l-l, thank you brothers and sisters!! I landed my first DJ gig in a corner bar hidden away in a shopping centre mall. I had no turn tables or cd players at home to practise mixing, so I learned to beat mix on the job...I was disgusting!

Seven months later the music gods were kind to me again, giving me a club residency. Only this time on the main Gold Coast club scene. As time passed by more residencies in exclusive bars and clubs landed in my pocket. It was a dream come true! My goal to DJ again lasted over 10 years with promoters paying me ridiculous amounts of money even into my 50's. I was living my dream ... I couldn't believe it!

But I'm not naive, I knew the bubble would pop one day and I'd better be ready when it does. So I turned to the internet. It was tough in the beginning, I got stung so many times. I spent thousands of dollars on one business venture after another, buying software for this and that, joining different MLM companies in hope of grand success. It was an expensive learning curve, but I leaned a lot and it was terrific a grounding for me.

My biggest take out was, there is no quick way to riches. The secret to making a living on or off line is to find a product or service you really like, build trust with people, give genuine value, always do what you say you'll do, and commit to it no matter what! Backed by the proper training.

The culture shock of growing older and realising my DJ years were coming to an end really floored me, and letting it go was very difficult. My ego was smashed. Then as life taught me lessons about letting go, I found myself humbled in so many new ways.

I made a decision to learn internet marketing. I searched and searched for the right training... I needed to know the A, B, C's on how to succeed online. When I found it I began soaking it up like a dry sponge to water. The more I got into it, it dawned on me that I could build a successful online business for the rest of my life, and make a great living out of it. Plus, the only person who could burst this bubble was myself, and I didn't intend doing that.

Online marketing is my life today. I work when I decide to, I take time out when I want to. In saying that though, I do put a lot of hours in each day. But it's worth every minute. I've done the hard yards and I'm enjoying the rewards of my effort, and it get's better and better as the years pass by.

There you have it. At least some of it. Thanks for reading thus far. If you have a question or would like to contact me please feel free to do so by posting a comment on my blog-(Coming Soon), through private messaging on the Wealthy Affiliate website, or directly at: tico.b@hotmail.com

Until we meet, believe in yourself and your ability to make your dreams come true.

Tico

Hey Lina,

Thank you for the congrats.

Yes, you are so right. People are crazy if the don't follow their heart. Too many people get tied up with so many things that other people want and suppress the very thing they love to do.

Well, thanks again Lina. All the very best with your journey.

Cheers, Tico.

Hey Kazzie B, I'm Tico B from the land down under too!

On a serious note Kazzie, thank you so much for taking the time to say good luck.

I just read you profile/bio or whatever they call it. And man, I hear you. I can imagine just how much you want out of the pay day, to pay day life and be in your control. Way to go Kazzie.

The great thing is you have everything here with WA to make your goals a reality.

I'm in a transition myself and knew I had to go premium with WA to get the training I need to start my new online ventures.

Anyway Kazzie, all the best. Here to you and your dreams, for you and yours.

Cheers, Tico.
