Not using Pinterest? You are missing out!

Visitors to your site are more likely to buy if they view your business and products online via Pinterest.

Here's how to set up a Pinterest account for your business and website:

Step 1 - Create business account for website

  • The first step is to create a business account for every website that you own.
  • To do this go to Business.pinterest.com
  • You will have to verify your website. To do this, you will have to upload a file to the server. Check the steps and check with the IT department to complete (if necessary).
  • If you have any problems, just search the "help" for the answer.
  • You can also find more resources at the help section.
  • Then also add the bookmarklet to your browser to pin directly from your browser.
  • Have a look at the "goodies" part on the pinterest website to install the bookmarklet.

Step 2 - Add the relevant Pinterest tools to your website

Convert your visitors to your site to your pinterest followers and ultimately to your buyers. Here's how:
  • Add the pin-it button to your website. You can find the button at the "goodies" section on pinterest.
  • Add follow on pinterest button to your site. This is for your visitors on your site to follow you on pinterest.
  • For increased pinning, add the following text to every great image "Pin this image if you like it" and then add the pinterest button underneath the text.
Now you have no reason not to use Pinterest for your business! Do you use Pinterest? Maybe share some tricks that you use here on my page.

If I may add......Your hosting company will usually give you one free email address with each domain you purchase. What you could do is to set up a gmail account that's just for marketing related stuff. After you create your email address for your domain name, you can set it to forward all emails to your gmail account. That way, you won't have to check multiple email accounts. Yet you could still use a different email account for each website you have.

Yep, I forward all my relevant stuff to one email account. But luckily Pinterest don't send you too many emails. If you set up a buss account, you have access to analytics, so you can ignore the emails about followers and repins and so on. Thanks for the comment!

PS - checkout this awesome site to create great pins from - http://pinstamatic.com/#home_section

Just edit your pin to include the link where you want it

You open an account with Pinterest. You are asked what kind of account you want to open and you say that you want a business account and you get to open one for a website. So later when you want to open another business account for another website it keeps saying that you already have a business account. How do you overcome this thys?

Pinterest track your account with your email address. So just set-up an email address for each of your websites and use that for the sign-up. Just remember to log out before setting up each new account. And then you can give yourself access to all your boards to pin from one easy location. Let me know if you still struggle to set up the accounts.

The trouble is that I am a complete newbie and do not know how to set up an email address for each of my websites. Could you explain how thys?

You can create a gmail account as your contact email for each of your sites. If I may ask, which type of sites do you have or planning?

Yes. I think gmail account is the best. I intend to go into self-improvement and personal growth. Thanks thys.

My pleasure! The motivation niche will work very well on pinterest. Especially if you use the above resource to create motivational quotes for pins. Good luck! Let me know if I can help with anything else.

Thys, I'm afraid I do not know how to open a business account for each website.

It's actually very easy. With what are you having problems?

Thys, I have read your blog regarding Pinterest and have found it most useful. I have to admit that I have not adhered to every step. I will certainly follow your guidelines esp the point that every website should have a business account. I was not aware of this. Many thanks for sharing.

My pleasure. Did you know? You can also give permission to yourself to pin to your business boards. Your business boards will then show on your personal account and you an then pin from your personal account to any of your business accounts, making it much easier. Just click edit and then share and enter your personal email address.

Thanks!

Good write up, very interesting.
