WA is on fire! This amazing platform just keeps getting better and better!
Let me explain.
Since I gingerly hit that Free Trial button back in 2019, this website has grown from strength to strength. Not only that but I have learnt so much more than I had ever expected and I am still learning and applying my new found skills!
I admit, I am a very fortunate person to have been in the IT industry for a long time now but that does not make me an expert in Web Design and Affiliate marketing by any stretch of the imagination, far from in fact.
There tends to be a perception that Tech folk are experts in anything and everything IT related but this is not always the case because there is so much more to computers and the computer industry than meets the eye.
For a start you have different sectors in the IT industry, for example Hardware, Software, Coding, Website Development, Graphic designers, Network engineers, Cyber Security Experts to name a very few.
Anyway I digress. I started out in Information Technology as a young lad (many years ago now sadly), there wasn't much going on in the web space arena. It wasn't until a few years later that Netscape, the number one Internet Browser along with Yahoo at the time, was launched. After this time I dabbled in webdesign but failed with every page I tried creating.
I have always been one with an entrepreneurial spirit. Always looking for ways to help others and to make additional income. I never give up and very much like a dog with a bone!
Having a full time career and wanting to learn a new skill was not at all easy for me. Working as a contractor for my own business, I was always driving up and down the country long distances to visit client sites and then carry out a long hard days work. By the time I got home I wasn't able to spend much quality time with my family due to being so tired and having to be up early the next day to do it all again. Groundhog day, I guess you could call it!
This had to stop and I had to find something to make a change for the better! I needed to take control.
They say "Everything you've ever wanted is on the otherside of fear"! I have this saying on my home office wall and read it every day to remind myself!
Learning is the key to success
One day it all clicked in to place. I was having some "Me Time" and was surfing the internet on my day off because I knew there had to be something out there that would help me turn my life around. I didn't want to commute any more sitting in traffic and feeling shattered every day and it was taking its toll on my mental health. This was when I stumbled upon a website promoting Wealthy Affiliate.
I admit, like most people are, I was sceptical at first. There are so many scams out there and Wealthy Affiliate offered the 7 days free trial so I thought "What do I have to lose?".
The Free Trial came and went and I admit I stayed paying the monthly fee for around 6 months afterwards to be sure but then went yearly Premium.
So happily, to this day, I am still a WAppy member of the WAmily.
For those that don't know WAppy = Wealthy Affiliate ppy (Happy) but you probably did know! :-)
WA have taught and continue to teach me new skills every day to help me build my business.
The training course and classes are second to none and are continually being updated to take in to account any changes in the online world.
New features are always being rolled out and new members are joining the WAmily all the time and that brings an enormous amount of knowledge to the Community as well.
The SiteSupport is always there for you as well to help you maintain your websites should you have an issue.
Even those at the helm, Kyle and Carson often pop in to the Chat to say hello and help you out if and when you need it! They are also very good at answering message which is amazing considering how busy they are!

While I’ve never been in IT, I can relate. I often surfed the web looking for a legitimate business opportunity online. I’ve tried so many things and actually had good success, but they were just not what I wanted long term. I was so excited by finding Wealthy Affiliate. I love writing and helping people plus I’m introverted so this is right up my alley! I haven’t experienced success yet, but I know with the training and support here I will definitely get there someday.
Wealthy Affiliate is very different to the rest in that it teaches you more than just Affiliate marketing, it also teaches you how to build and promote your business too.
Keep going and you will do well.

I'm an IT persons of about 25 years also. I agree with you 100% you never know everything in IT no matter how much time you spend. I can relate to Netscape and Yahoo as well, as Internet browsers. I used to be one of those back of the house guys that work more with exchange server and windows server patching and administration. So glad to be finally free from those sleepless nights.
Yes. WA is a good place to be. Glad to be here amongst so much persons with diverse backgrounds. Reading the many blog posts of the members here are inspiring. Every time I get discourage, for some strange reason I always find a post or comment that encourages and inspire me to continue. Thanks for your post as well.

WA is a great break away from the normal IT life! WA is very inspiring and the amount of blog posts you see and the success stories, really do help you along the way to success yourself!

You are so right...WA is a great place to learn and has everything one needs. I truly believe that one must NEVER stop learning, whether they read books, learn new skills, study academic or business journals, learn from their employees (or in our case here at WA), our readers, followers, peers or those in the WA community with more experience) or strive for change through innovation...all share a passion for wanting to learn new skills and ideas.

Thank you Skipper for that well written blog. I learned a lot from your blog.
I learned that we all face challenges, but regardless of the nature of the challenge,we can overcome, and we can do so if we are persistent and if we are determined.
I also learned that at times we need to open our eyes, to see and seize golden opportunities that present themselves, a case in point WA
But also we must have the desire to learn, the desire to educate ourselves. Not to take for granted the training and classes that WA provides, and we must take advantage of all these wonderful provisions.
And truly, our success, depends on our education. I am not referring to a higher education or a college degree, but I am making a reference, to the classes and training that WA provides.
So as you mentioned, we have to invest in ourselves, by learning, by teaching, by educating ourselves, yes by taking full advantage of all that WA has to offer us. Only when we learn to educate ourselves, will we put ourselves in a position to succeed in our online adventure.
