Setting up Adsense for the first time can be frustrating
Log into wordpress as Admin
appearance > theme editor
Right side of the page
Theme Files> header.php
In the Script you will find around like 16 or 17 "head>"
copy/paste the "<scriptcode>" after the > behind head.
Example
head><scriptcode>
make sure the >< are touching and there is no space between.
Save Changes

You can use the "insert headers and footers" plugin, should you need to do anything similar in future.
Yes I have installed that. In the training it asks you to do it this way which I found confusing, I've seen a couple people ask in Live Chat so thought if I blogged this I can go back and refer them later :)
